Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
But doesn't that lead back to the point some of us have been making in favour of a more flexible platform?

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
I agree re BLS and Pontiac. Obviously, Holden/Opel/Saab/Daewoo apllications of kappa would be interesting. Re Buick, I find it a little harder to picture its role, maybe because of the "old man's car" perception... I see Buick as extremely elegant styling and detailing for the price, but excluding the Enclave and (to a lesser extent) the Lucerne I'm not really into Buicks.

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
I'd only add Cadillac to what you wrote, because I don't think we'll see Buicks this side of the Atlantic, even if they're compact. A Caddy would fit your 'endless possibilities' point, though.

G6 convertible trunk
VW doesn't make it. A company named Webasto builds the roof next to the VW assembly line. Click here and you'll see a (rather small) pic of the EOS top. Re the G6, I think it should have the same system as the Opel Astra Twin Top: the folded top moves a few inches up in order to allow access to the cargo space.

Daewoo SX2
Opels are sold in China, India, Singapore and Taiwan, and Daewoo is only sold in Korea, I think. No overlap.

The Fit is Go!!
I was suprised when I saw my first one: the car looks much better in person!
-
...
One nitpicking comment, though: since the car I'll see this side of the Atlantic will have rear foglights (those lights in the rear bumper), I hope they are moved elsewhere in the production car. Actually, a center mounted one right between the exhausts would be enough and it would look way better.

VW Jetta TDI
Not very far, and maybe in real driving it will be more economical. I've seen a few Jettas when driving around (we got the name back in Europe - no more Vento / Bora), and I have to say it looks much better than the bigger Passat. EDIT: does anyone know if and when it will get the 170hp diesel 2.0L?

The need for premium 4-cylinders cars
Cadillac absolutely needs a premium RWD car that is smaller than the CTS. A Pontiac wouldn't exactly be premium, it would be something with less features that would be geared for pure driving excitement. As for Buick or Saturn, I really don't know. Perhaps Saturn. And Saab might get a Astra variant to go against the A3.

'06 Chevrolet Vectra Mexico
That's the Euro Vectra with a Chevy badge. EDIT - Click here to see the Mexican Vectra. The site is in Spanish. It has a 250hp 2.8L V6 turbo engine which is also used by the Saab 9-3 and the Cadillac BLS. I have a feeling that front end will be the Aura Redline's front end.

Welcome my new Saturn SKY!!!
Congratulations on your purchase. The Sky / Opel GT is my favourite Kappa and I can't wait for the Lisbon Auto Show to start so I can see it in person!

Toyota Recalls Camry
In case there was no sarcasm involved in your post, why don't you email that idea to GM? Even if they say 'no', at least the suggestion was made...

Early Stages of Decline
The mid-size FWD Epsilon II cars will have to be segment leaders too, because the "bland, soul-less idiots" (I wouldn't use that expression if it wasn't already used above) mentioned above buy some 400K Camrys each year and the Zetas will probably be priced in the upper range of Camry prices, Avalon prices, and eventually entry-level Lexus prices.

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
I that info is true, I hope the car's dynamics aren't much affected by what I guess is a heavier engine...

Despite cuts, GM adds designers
Agreed. I think a more diverse designers pool will help with that.

'06 Chevrolet Vectra Mexico
The Brazilian model is built on the Astra platform, essentially a 4-door Astra. The Mexican model is the European Opel Vectra.

The Next Ion/Astra
Nice chops, probably referring to an update of the current Astra. At least it doesn't look like an angry pig like some chops of how the next Golf will look like...

Unless the camo alters the car's proportions a lot, that pic 3 @ Edmunds.com gives me a great feeling about this car's looks!

'06 Chevrolet Vectra Mexico
Basic Vectras have front-end details identical to the Aura's. EDIT - here it is, a Vectra Caravan. The front bumper looks just like the Aura's.

Did GM offer money to the media for a good word?
Would you prefer GM to quietly sweep things under the rug if the story is true? I wouldn't, but maybe my sense of business ethics is a little exagerated...

Did GM offer money to the media for a good word?
Terminate the PR agency's contract and if anyone at GM is involved in this, they should be fired immediately.

My trip to NYIAS
Thanks for the pics! Trunk access with the top down doesn't look all that easy. The Opel Astra Twin Top has a mechanism to raise the top a few inches when you open the trunk, allowing better access when the top is down. Maybe the G6 top can receive such an upgrade soon.

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
x2 What name did you use there, btw? I used my real name there.
