Corvette Joke
Here is a link to it. Corvette Forum The animosity was for the joke being old. Personally, I still think it is funny. My wife, though, said that she wouldn't run off with a cop, just the Vette. The sad thing is that there are some very cool people on the site and a lot of good information there as well. Just some people enjoy ridiculing others for sport. Those are the ones who make the others look bad. On the other hand, the Corvette wave seems to be alive and well here in Western Washington and the guys at Corvette & High Performance in Olympia are some of the coolest people I know. BTW, I love the C3 convertible in your sig. What year is it? (Forgive me if you've told us many times-I'm blonde and seem to be representing that fact a lot lately). My brother has a 71 and his son a 77 (both at coupes though).

Corvette Joke
I couldn't believe the hardcore bashing. It really is funny in a sad sort of way. The sad part is that is makes it easy to understand why sometimes people view Corvette owners as snobs and jerks. Heck, I got asked at work when I was going to turn into a prick. Oh well, I have enough to do and enough places to hang out without that forum. Disclaimer: I do not think of Corvette owners as jerks.

Corvette Joke
Never Heard That Excuse A fellow bought a new Corvette and was out on an interstate for a nice evening drive. The top was down, the breeze was blowing through what was left of his hair, and he decided to open her up. As the needle jumped up to 80 mph he suddenly saw a flashing red and blue light behind him. "There ain't no way they can catch a Corvette," he thought to himself and opened her up further. The needle hit 90, 100, 130 and finally 150 with the light still behind him. "What the hell am I doing?" he finally thought and pulled over. The cop came up to him, took his license without a word, and examined it and the car. "I've had a tough shift and this is my last pull over. I don't particularly feel like doing more paperwork, so if you can give me an excuse for your driving that I haven't heard before, you can go." "Last week my wife ran off with a cop," the man said, "and I was afraid you were trying to give her back." "Off you go," said the officer. note: I posted this in a Corvette forum and got some real animosity about being a Newbie. So, if it is old and you've heard it before, sorry.

Toyota - Biggest Contributor to National Trade Deficit?
Wow, China is #1 by a huge margin but most of us know that already. What looks weird on that list is Europe is listed and then the EU as well. So, European countries not in the EU account for 2.2B? Bottom line is that across the board, too much of our money is being shipped out of the country with nowhere near as much coming back to us. This is not a recipe for long term growth and success.

Absolute must read
As much as I hate the letter designations as names, it would not keep me from buying a car that performed the function I wanted that style of car for. That said, Pontiac has such a rich history to draw from. Let's hope that they soon remember that!

Absolute must read
Thanks for finding and posting that Camino. Some amazing cars and concepts came out from that era. Let's home more greatness is on its way.

So it's going to snow right....?
Hmmm, I think I stay here in Washington State. Snow is great in the hills, no fun on the roads around here. Good luck and take care if you do get that white stuff.

Grampa Flint Just Cannot Get Enough of Volt
Man, does this guy have anything but hatred for anything GM does? I was happy to see the people at GM bring out a concept like the Volt and then put a timeline to it that isn't sso dang far off in the future that everyone would forget about it.

Why are you still an auto enthusiast?
I love the statement because it applies so readily to me. Thanks Camino for defining the feeling so well. And its kind of funny because for so much of my life I wasn't an enthusiast. But, now, that has definately changed. My love of Camaros started with my brother. We had finally gotten over that need to compete with each other and started to be friends as well as brothers. He asked me to go to a few shows and events with him in his 73 Camaro. We had a blast. Then I got my 95 Z/28 and he got me into drag racing and the Camaro club. This just haven't been the same. I bought the 95 because I started getting into Camaros. I then joined the club and started going to events. Now, I just keep getting more and more into the cars because of the people I have met. The Camaro was the first car I have owned that really brought out a passion. And it is the car that brought me around some of the greatest people that I have ever known. Members of my club have time and time again shown just how good people can be. I can be very cynical but they help me keep faith in people. I do have other cars that I really enjoy. All three of my Vettes have been a blast, my Skylark is a great drive and I love it, I love trucks, but because of family and friends; I keep coming back to Camaros. Tammy and I now have 4 Camaros, covering 3 of the generations; a 71 RS Z/28, an 87 IROC-Z, an 89 RS Convertible, and I still have my 95 Z/28.

New Daily Driver
Well, I got the Vette back a couple of days and waited to post here until I could drive it back and forth to work a couple of times. Once again, driving to work is fun! The Vette is running very well and I am loving driving it. Next step, pull the original radio and install and aftermarket one. I have already picked up a Pioneer head unit and am waiting on the harness that will allow me to wire it to the Bose speakers. I also have a pair of subwoofers and a Coustic amp to drive them ready to go. Next week is my long weekend, so the install happens then. If I want better speakers later, I'll pull the Bose speakers and wire for some good aftermarket ones. Ah, choices, choices.

Get out of the way or speed up!
Heck, a couple of years ago when a bunch of us in my Camaro club were heading to Reno for Hot August Nights, I saw a cop come up behind us. I thought we were all going to get in trouble, we were doing about 80. As he passed he gave a couple of the cars a thumbs up and then hit the gas. I am starting to think the speed limit signs on the California Highways are the minimum speeds.

Terrible Headache..
If you started feeling better after the meal, it could be that you had a hypoglycemic reaction. That does nor mean you have hypoglycemia. It just means you blood sugar was way off. I've also noticed that a cool breeze across my face and head makes a sinus headache much less painful. I tend to get very bad headaches as well. The best thing for me to do is curl up in a dark room and try to get some sleep. If I go a long time (a couple of days)without caffeine, they get worse. Good luck on feeling better. If the headache persists and you can't make it go away, see someone about it. I had a bad case of sinusitus last month while triyng to recover from pneumonia and it drove me half nuts.

Top Marine General in Trouble for Homosexuality Comments
First of all trying to get a marine general to apologize for anything is an exercise in futility. As someone still in the service, i could care less about who you want to sleep with. It matters much more to me how well you can do your job. Getting any major policy changed within the military, especially something as hot as this, is going to take a lot of time. Heck, we are still dealing with the issue of women in combat units. Also, the UCMJ still has articles prohibiting certain sexual acts (and no, it doesn't matter it you are hetero or gay) so that would have to be changed as well. Eventually this will change. And our service will more accurately reflect our society views on this.

Come on, where's the real list. Sorry, but I can't get enthusiastic about any of those choices.

GM image upgrade a ray of hope
Sorry, my bad. I was pretty tired when I read it and it looks like I read and interpreted it wrong. In that case, they must be saying companies that operate within th US. If so, it is misleading.
