  1. WHAT?!?!?!?!? I love boobies, breasts, headlights, whatever you want to call them. I love a cold day when it looks like you have to reset a woman's circuit breakers.

I gotta agree. That is exquisite, beautiful.

Plato always had a way with words.
  4. I am definately straight, way too attracted to boobies (is that possible?). I can appreciate how a man in good shape appears, but that is just an appreciation for the form of the human body in general, which is an amazing design. But, I do not feel any attraction toward men sexually. I have wondered about it, but it turns out that is just because I tend to think about anything and usually wind up overanalyzing. When I first met the woman who has now been my wife for almost 15 years, it was an instant attraction. Now, I am not sure that I believe in love at first sight but it certainly felt like it. There was a massive visual attraction (remember I am addicted to boobies), but I also had that butterfly feeling in my stomach. The more we talked and we together, the stronger my feelings for her were. There was only one thing about her that I really didn't like. She couldn't assert herself. She seemed afraid to contradict anyone or put herself before anyone else, ever. I had a hard time getting her to tell me what SHE wanted. After she understood that I wanted her as a whole persone, not just an attachment or extension of me, our love grew stronger than i thought possible. We fought, argued, disagreed, and even thown up that 'D' word. But, we have always found a way to meet on common ground. I love her more today than I did when we met or even on the day we got married. All this reminds me of something that my dad told me time and again. 'Love is not an emotion it is a decision. The emotions that come from that decision show us wether or not we made a good deicsion.' Over the years since he passed away (I still miss him an incredivle amount-it hurts to talk about him sometimes) I have thought about this a lot. With all of the problems they had, they could have easily called it quits. But, dad said every day he looked within himself and decided that yes, he still loved mom. Its not a perfect example, but then what is? Our sexual orientation is largely uncontrollable and usually completely irrational. It has defied explanation for centuries and even today people can't agreed on the whys. People can argue genetics versus environment until the sun grows cold and it won't matter one bit. The argument won't change how anyone feels about the people they are attracted to or the ones they come to love.
  5. This wasn't supposed to be only one new cars. It was to be a fee you paid EVERY TIME you renewed you tabs. In other words, you would pay this every year unless you had collector plates, then it would be once every seven years. This idea was insane. My car club did a letter/email campaign to fight it, and I now a lot of other enthuiasts did as well. Thankfully, this idea is dead, for now. Probably some idiot in Oly will try to bring it back. I shudder to think what I would have to pay. 2000 Cavalier Z24 - $70.00 2000 Corvette - $325.00 1999 Silverado - $325.00 1995 Camaro Z28 - $325.00 1989 Camaro RS - $325.00 1987 Camaro IROC - $325.00 Thats $1695.00 every year plus another $650.00 (71 Camaro and 72 Skylark) when I have to renew my collector plates.
  6. That is absolutely beautiful. It would fit in perfectly with the G8. If they would bring that over as a Pontiac coupe and then wake up for the G8 wagon. Pontiac could have a excellent lineup. G8 Sedan G8 ST G8 Sport Wagon G8 Couple (this)-dump the big engine in it and you possibly have a new GTO Solstice Not sure if the G6 would fit in anymore, and leave the CUVs to GMC and Buick.
  7. That is one ugly truck, at least from that pic. They might also target Aztec owners, since this is about as ugly. The author is taking the manufacturer at their word that the truck will achieve gas mileage in the 30s. I wonder what it will really do.

Back on topic, It seems as if this is article should have been title, "Why Detroit has been losing money." At least then the article would have supported the title. The information is old news, and much if it is either out of date or becoming that way, as posts (at least those that were on topic) have already stated. And everyone that wants to fight wars that have already past, please go elsewhere. I thought this was a site to support GM, praise their successes, point out their weaknesses and problems, and look to the future of their cars. You will never convince each other of you points, good or bad, and it only detracts from what the strengths of this board. Take care, all

Either that or the new KITT has all of the acceleration of a 74 Cobra. Tammy was watching that when I got up to go to work last night. What I saw had nothing really to recommend it.

I am not sure why this keeps rearing its ugly head. Why would they seriously want to change the configuration of the Vette, since doing so would probably anger the Vette community? I say forget making the Vette a mid engine vehicle and never bring up the subject again.
  11. zhawk replied to BatmanGTO's post in a topic in Chrysler
Wow, if this keeps up, Chrysler won't have anything soon. While I am a huge Vette fan, I always thought the Viper was great. The first gen was a truly beauty of excess. Second gen lost some of its uniqueness in looks but the next one was again something to see. Well, RIP, Viper. You have some good company with the other cars that Chrysler has dropped. ..added.. From some of the comments at the article, it is plain to see that some people will never understand performance cars and others will never accept the improvements that US auto manufacturers have made and continue to make. Some people will never be happy.

I LOVE that sound. I reallllllly miss the drag strip. can't wait until winter is over.
  13. And idiots like that are allowed to help decide the future of our country. Does that scare anybody but me?

We've gotten a little bit of that here. Thankfully, (at least in my mind) most of it has been up in the mountains. They've been getting pounded up there in the Cascades lately.
  15. Mythbusters is my No. 1 Followed by both of the Pinks shows (Pinks and Pinks All Out)- The only reason I pay extra for cable is to keep Speed Well my midwinter dragracing fix is taken care of I also like CSI, Without a Trace, and my wife has got me to watching Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International. I would love to readjust my sleep schedule so I can check out some of the new Discovery Channel shows. Smash Lab looks very good. I liked the pilot episode when the tested RhinoLiner by blowing up the trucks. Since I work nightshift I tend to get 2-3 hours of sleep after I get home and then a nap before going to work. Makes watching TV tough. Most midday TV seems to be what I call "Loser TV", sorry just my opinion, so I don't watch it.
  16. When you take responsibility for yourself and those who look to you for support and nurture. When you accept responsibility for your words, thoughts, and deeds. When you are willing to do what is right even though it may be the tough road. When you accept that there is more out there that needs your care than your own little 'world'. When you accept that you can't do all of this alone, that we are here together. Then you are a man. I was raised to accept that it was my responibility to take care of my family. At first my wife didn't understand that viewpoint. But after a long discussion she came to realize that I wasn't telling her that she didn't (or shouldn't) have a commitment to me, our family, our relationship. I just knew that I had an unshakeable commitment to giving her and our kids the best possible future that I could. Now, we have the same commitment to each other. Makes for a pretty good marriage.
  17. You and your family are in my prayers as well, NOS. My grandfather went much the same way, but for all I still miss him, I know we will meet again. May your moments and memories with your grandfather give you strength and blessings for the rest of your life.

Its moments like this that help you over all of the rough spots. Thanks for sharing, I really miss Tammy and the kids right now (I am TDY overseas) and that makes me miss them more but it also reminds me of a lot of the real good times. Hold onto these memories. It will help as your kids make that transition to (hopefully) self sufficient adults. Even then, there will be special times. My kids are 13 and 9. They drive me nuts but also are the greatest. I only hope that I am enough of a good dad for them.
  19. Well, part of the solution may be happening at work. We are currently running a test on our C-17s to use a synthetic fuel blend. And it is going very well. We expect to convert all of the fleet by about 2013. Why so long? We had a massive issue converting C141s from JP4 to JP8. This conversion seems to be going better. Just think, if the Air Force, probably the highest user of fuels, converts to synthetics and alternative fuels, what will that help?
  20. Meanwhile, I work nightshift when the busses aren't running to and from the base where I work. I live about 27 miles from work and my Vette averages around 27-29MPG. I live out in the country where it is quieter, property taxes and sales taxes are lower, my insurance is lower, and I have room to breathe. I also moved out there because it had a better school district for my children. There are a lot of reasons that people like me move out to the country. We accept that we are going to have to drive farther to work but it is worth it for us. I cannot stand city living. Too many people, too close.
  21. That was awesome. I loved it. It was too bad that Chevy had to pull the ad 'A Boy's Dream', with the kid driving the Vette. That one was fun too.

It's nice to see the strike over so quickly. Neither GM nor the workers got hurt bad by the short strike and the deal they worked out is reasonable. It looks like a good deal all around for both sides.

  24. No, No, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
  25. Ya know, its kind of funny and kind of sad that this is such a huge arguement at the personal level. Hear me out. Most people are more than willing to conserve. One it saves money (usuallly) and two, quite often, they would perfer to leave something for their kids (or future generations). People will even spend a bit more to recycle (it costs me extra on my garbage bill to recycle). Most outdoors people take very good of our environment; its their home, their livelihood, or just where they want to be. Personally, I buy compact flourescent bulbs, energy star appliances, and try to keep my energy use down. The problem comes down when this becomes a Political Battle, a Blame Game, or when the extremist pop up. A moderate voice gets drowned out by shouting and as the shouting gets louder it gets more polarized. Then that moderate voice gets accused of being 'anti-environment' when what they want is a balance. The environment has just become another arena to many politicians. As for the extremists, they make a wonderful concept into something so totally out of control that it turns people off. Then they can't figure out why more people just want them to go away. The environment isn't the only issue with this problem, abortion, fiscal policy, foreign affairs, or any other HOT TOPIC has this going on. My suggestions? Do what you can reasonable do to cut down on your energy use. (compact flourescent bulbs, energy star appliances, good windows and doors, shut off whatever is not in use) Be reasonable about your water use. (water lawns when necessary but don't overdo it, low flow showers and toilets, etc) Recycle. (even if it costs, its worth it) Dispose of wastes properly. (separate oil and other fluids and take them to a proper center, or have a certified place doo your oil changes) Keep you cars and trucks running as efficiently as possible. (tunes ups, oil changes, proper tire pressure, etc.) All of those things will benefit you as well as the environment. All of that said. We also need to manage our forests. By that I mean, managed, sustainable logging in areas that will support it. Cutting fires lanes in places prone to forest fires to slow the spead of wildfires and protect homes and other forested areas. Promote and help reforestation projects and plans, commercial, public, and private. People also need to quit vilifying the auto industry and enthusiasts. GM, Ford, Honda, etc forces no one to buy or drive cars. They try to build what mainstream people want (usually). Dumping on them instead of trying to find incentives for better mass transit only confuses the situations and hides much of the real solutions. Classic car owners take very good care of their cars. I've seen newer econoboxes spewing massive clouds (many times) but its pretty rare for the classics. I live out in the country, my home is surrounded by trees. Deer often live in my backyard. I love it out here and want it to stay like this. It's time for reasonable voices to say their piece and tell the extremists to talk intelligently or shut up. Its past time for people to quit throwing garbage out their car windows. And its time we created a sustainable, economically feasable energy policy.
