I disagree. Its not as if Gm had to build this from the ground up. Most everything for the G8 ST was already taken care of by Holden. And with the G8 already being a production vehicle, a lot of the 'Americanization' of the Ute was already figured out. This won't bring a massive number of sales to Pontiac but it should easily return the investment the GM put into it. Besides, this time GM is doing what people keep telling them to do, lead into a segment. The G8 ST is unique in the American market. Hopefully, Pontiac dealers won't put insane markups on it and then we can see if it can sell at a reasonable price.

No, its still open, at least it looks to be from my computer.

I voted. Its weird to see that so far the opinion is negative.
  4. Try this location Wiring Diagrams Hopefully, you can find something there. Its a bunch of wiring diagrams. If the lights won't come on, I don't think it would be the starter. Check out your battery wires and see if you might have a fuseable link that went bad. Sometimes this just takes a multimeter, some patience, and a lot of determination.
  5. Scott's never steered us wrong yet and I have no reason to believe he would do so now. He is a car guy first, last , and always. Everytime he's come to Seattle and we've gotten together, he has always been upfront. If he couldn't tell us information he would let us know but he would also talk straight up about what he could and give his personal impressions of what GM had out, what was coming, and what was happening within the company. Hmmm, I wonder if Nancy (one of our club members) is one of those 15. She always seems to be able to work her way into info.
  6. It could have also been a GI's car. Remember, AAFES (the Army Air Force Exchange Service) does sell new cars over there in Europe. They give some pretty good deals.
  7. This does bring back some punch to the SS badge. I think I just have to test drive one of these myself when they arrive here.
  8. Happy B-Day Northstar. Hopefully, you did well on your exams and have extra reasons to celebrate,

You young whippersnappers quit messing with us. We'll run you over with our wheelchairs and beat you with our walkers and canes! Young and energy will never beat old age and treachery!

My smarta$$ reply would probably be something like, "yeah, something I actually care about" and look at them pointedly. My one sister gave me a bunch of crap. I don't listen to her anymore. She was upset since I had some nice cars and she didn't have one worth having. Hmmm, let's see. I work a full time job for the Air Force and I am in the Air Force Reserves (the 2 jobs are tied together). I take care of my family and all of our bills. Yep, I have some nice cars, I earned the money. I get to decide what I spend it on once the necessities are paid for. Hey, its our hobby, it's our fun. Those that don't understand probably never will. Unless, we take them to the drag strip and get them hooked too.

I think there is a gene that causes it. I have the same problem and so does my brother. My insurance agent jokes about it with me a lot. He's almost as bad as I am.

I was 14 getting ready for high school. My brother had just graduated. Hey, Camino, you could be my brother. Your car tastes are about the same at least. (He's got a 70 El Camino and a 72 Camaro in his garage right now)
  19. Happy Easter. I hope everyone had a great day and enjoyed it for any reason you could. Hopefully, a bunch of nice days are ahead of us. Its almost time to drive the 71 Camaro or 72 Skylark to work.
  20. Its not that everything is 'impossible to believe but that most reports must be looked at critically and taken with a grain of salt. Most of us here are honest enough (I would hope) to admit that this site won't always be as source of unbiased information but let's be realistic. We have all seen reports that were closer to fiction than reality. It's not bias, its laziness and an unwillingness to go against the grain. Many people are like that, but the media helps shape the thoughts and desires of the public.
  21. Nope, not that. Thank God.
  22. I can't remember the name of the play. Hey, I graduated from high school in '86 and this was my junior year I do believe.
  23. I was in a play in high school that really brought it home for me. My character was one of the main characters but died. It was a strange setup though. Each Act had three scenes set in a different cabin of a cruise ship. So what happened is that at the end of Act 1 everything went back in time to start in a new location for Act 2. The audience learned at the end of Act 1 that my character died. Then saw him again to begin Act 2. It made them see him in a different way. It was during Act 2 that everyone learned that he had an incurable disease. His acceptance of what lay before him and his trying to help his wife come to terms with it are something that stay with me. "We all live under the shadow of death. Anyone might fall down the stairs and break their neck. I just know its going to happen soon and it gives me a fresh outlook. Everyday is precious, everyday with you moreso." Then after Act 2, scene 3 ended with him gone. He returned in Act 3, scene 1. I am not sure why but that shaped an outlook for me. I may not always be perfectly happy and quite often I lose sight of what is important but I try to find a way to enjoy what I have, where I am, and who I lam with.

Actually it was the new database address, which hasn't caused everyone problems yet. Since I uploaded my forum myself instead of installing theirs the database address problem wasn't so obvious. The 'localhost' should have worked but we had to go for the exact address. I give them credit for what they did. They've been a good host and its a pretty good deal for the club. Besides sometimes what seems obvious in hindsight will stump people for a long time. Even experienced car people sometimes put the distibutor in 180 degrees out.
  25. Ummm, Tammy is already going to Tang Soo Do classes. She wouldn't be watching your feet, just aiming at your head. I know from experience that she has a mean spinning back kick.
