July 2011 Sales: Ford Motor Co.
Focus is down and Ranger is up. Also, recent public polling indicates that people would rather have sex with Betty White than Katy Perry.

July 2011 Sales: Chrysler Group
Seriously? Sales increases? People are seeing some glimmer of hope in this company... all I see is death and dispair. The only products I wouldn't run screaming from are the Ram and Caravan.

July 2011 Sales: Volkswagen
Sales increases for the Jetta... *sigh* It's like petting your dog after he takes a dump on your rug.
-
July 2011 Sales: Kia
Glad the Optima is doing so well for them. I love it when less beige means more sales!
-
July 2011 Sales: Toyota
I'll ask, the same question as in the Honda thread... is this earthquake/tsunami related? I find that hard to believe, as the Yaris in particular is made in many plants around the world.
-
July 2011 Sales: Honda
What happened here? Is this somehow caused by the earthquake/tsunami, or is this just caused by stale products?
-
July 2011 Sales: Suzuki
Lots of new, excellent compact choices come to market, and the SX4 sales skyrocket? WTF?
-
July 2011 Sales: Porsche
This is the only logical response to the SUV which has become the sales leader for Porsche. I feel dirty just typing that.

My Eco has rear drums too.

dumb ol' facebook
I carried quite a few grudges in late elementary and early high school. People picked on me for being smart, and some were very mean about it. However, all of the worst offenders at some point came around and were actually friendly towards me by the end of high school. So, I no longer hold any grudges. One particular story has a sad ending. One bully in particular who made my life hell in grade 6 and 7 had become quite nice to me by grade 9 - wouldn't quite call him a friend but it was heading that way. I really thought he was turning his life around, but unfortunately his past caught up with him and he got kicked out of our high school. He continued down the wrong path and had a long list of unsolved crimes in his wake. Finally one day the police caught him and the long list of crimes was finally pinned on him. He was sentenced to jail for a long period of time. Shortly after being jailed, he hung himself with the bedsheets. Despite the years of hardship he put me through, I still felt really bad when I heard about this.

dumb ol' facebook
I guess I must be aging well... because at 28, I still get carded every time I go to the casino, where they're wondering if I'm over 19 or not.

4-Cylinders Becoming The Dominant Choice
Imagine telling someone 15 years ago that there would be a 4-cyl Explorer.

4-Cylinders Becoming The Dominant Choice
Ford just announced that they're putting a 2.0L ecoboost 4 into the Explorer. 237 hp, 250 lb·ft.

*UPDATED* White House Drops CAFE Standard To 54.5 MPG
Those MPG ratings for the Sprint and Metro have been recalculated, but still beat just about anything out there.

4-Cylinders Becoming The Dominant Choice
riviera - maybe that's why I don't get the draw of V6s. My two V6 cars were both 3.1L ('91 Trans Sport, '99 Lumina)

4-Cylinders Becoming The Dominant Choice
I've had two 6-cyls back in the early '00s. I can't imagine buying one again either...

Help with Corvette purchase decision
Not feeling that orange, and I am never a fan of grey/silver. My first choice on a 'vette would be either blue or yellow.

Rage causing behaviour
In a perfect logical world, I wouldn't make obscene gestures either. Anger makes us do stupid things. I'm quite happy that I've now limited my anger to where I only give the finger. The last time someone did something this dangerous to me while I was biking (several years ago), I tried to kick in her taillight. edit - to make it clear that I tried to break it but failed.

Rage causing behaviour
Guess I just don't get that hyper-aggressive point of view. To me, if I'm in the wrong, I'm going to do what I can do defuse the situation.

"How's My Driving?"
OCN... no, it just needs to have Bluetooth (which most phones from the last 5 years do). The car acts like a giant wireless headset. I think one of the major problems with holding a cell phone is that not only do you now have one less hand free, but you are also less likely to turn your head to do a proper shoulder check as it is more difficult to do so.

Saab 9-6 Shows Its Face
I think the refreshed Tribeca actually used the exact headlights from the 9-6. Look closely.

Rage causing behaviour
One thing I've never understood. How can people who are clearly in the wrong return the finger? I was biking today and got cut off by someone who just had to slam on the brakes at the stop light anyways. I let her have it through the open window and gave her the finger. She returned it and truly enraged me. Took everything in me not to beat the living crap out of her in front of her kids. I don't get it - why risk this? I'm clearly already enraged by her, why would she want to make it worse?

Phones
Just curious. I have an old-fashioned cell phone and an IP-based phone service from Google.

New Android
I can see the appeal of the tablets, and I'm waiting for them to come down in price. Smartphones though, I still don't get. I'll stick with my phone that actually fits in my pocket comfortably.

gymnasiums
Really though, I'm wondering how anyone can possibly run a business for so little. Especially one with a pool.
