Replacement For Dodge Caliber To Debut At Detroit Auto Show
I really hope they don't just polish the existing turd, like they did with the Sebring.

When your neighbors annoy you
Oh, then that certainly is actionable. If animals are crawling inside, she's harboring vermin. Also, if you document the roof material on your deck, you might be able to work it as a hazard to you--things are routinely falling off on her property and pose a danger to someone on yours. Having a large hole in a roof is a lot different-sounding than just saying you have to spend two minutes a couple times a year after a storm and are more worried about the perceived impacts on your property value. Two minutes a couple times a year sounds like minor debris after an unusually strong seasonal storm...when I lived in the Midwest, we'd regularly spend 30-60 minutes cleaning up branches, leaves and/or chipped roofing materials (slate roof) nearly a dozen times in some years, so to me, a few minutes 2-3 times a year seems pretty minor. Has this been going on for a while? It would take a long time or a couple of very brutal storms to rip that kind of hole in a roof like that, and like you, I'm surprised your neighbor isn't apparently having severe water intrusion issues. Speaking of water...with moisture comes mold. Depending on the situation, you could also have cause for action if you think your neighbor's lack of repairs is causing air quality problems for you due to toxic mold spores. Basically...at least in the US, you can't do much/anything if your neighbor is offending your aesthetics or simply not being as meticulous as you would be (unless, of course, the aesthetics are in violation of neighborhood covenants, codes and/or restrictions). But you would have actionable cause if whatever your neighbor is doing is leading to health/safety/welfare issues for you/the neighborhood. Harboring wild animals (including birds--if they produce excessive droppings on your property, that's a health issue), mold, or maintaining an unsafe condition (debris regularly falling on your property) are all legitimate claims you should be able to make to the appropriate local authority. Hope this helps. The shingles that are coming off are mostly coming off whole, so that's why it's easy to clean up (asphalt shingles). The pile that I collected this spring was about a foot thick and probably contained 30-40 shingles.

Cubicle - I've never heard of any association like that, so I really doubt we have one here.

When your neighbors annoy you
She already has a hole in the roof large enough for a grown cat to get inside. I'm not sure how she hasn't had water issues.

When your neighbors annoy you
Hire someone to clean up the mess and invoice her. It's not the mess itself that bothers me - that takes a minute or two to clean up, a couple times a year - it's the fact that her house is falling apart and she doesn't care. Pride in your house does a lot for a neighbourhood.

When your neighbors annoy you
My neighbour annoys me because her roof is falling apart, and I have to clean the shingles off my deck every time it rains. I've told her about it, and she's not doing anything. Not sure what else can really be done until she has a major leak.

Your MPG
I had a check-engine light that the dealership had no techs to check on... so they gave me a rental overnight. All the place had for GM products was a Sierra, so I had to go with that. 300km of mostly highway driving later, I had to put 38 liters back in to fill it back up to where it was when I picked it up. That's 12.7 l/100km. OUCH.

I'm still not sure if impss is mocking me or being serious...

They outsold Toyota... when's the last time that happened?

Your MPG
This trip: Gmaps - Toronto to Quebec City on 40.3 liters. Google tells me that's 5.0 L/100km and 5.0 l/100km = 47 miles per gallon

Vacation like it's 1969!
I stayed at the Apapche Motel when I was in Moab, Utah... so obviously, I have no problem with kitsch.

I wasn't sure if anyone was actually going to read that. I know I go into too much detail sometimes on topics people don't care about.

Ah, OK, that does make sense. 's' and 'z' syllables are closely related in Japanese. Isusu: いすす Isuzu: いすず If you drop the little " mark on the last syllable, they're the same. That's exactly how Kiichiro Toyoda's last name became Toyota (because 'd' and 't' are also related): Toyoda: とよだ Toyota: とよた

Beijing vs. Peking is just a matter of which language you consider to be "Chinese": Mandarin or Cantonese. Mandarin is by far the more widely spoken language, and is the language of the Chinese government. However, early English contact with China was centered around Hong Kong, where they speak Cantonese. Eventually, we switched to the more common Mandarin pronunciations instead. Peking (cant.) is Beijing (mand.), and Nanking is Nanjing. Japanese, on the other hand, never had the multi-language problem, and it's also easier to pick English letters that make sense to translate to. AFAIK, there's never been an alternate way to transliterate Japanese. What is the alternate spelling of Isuzu in the video? (can't see the video)

Bizzare and Slightly Terrifying

LLN Reviews Cruze 2LT
So far, the two tanks that I've done the math on have offered 6.2 l/100km and 6.1 l/100km, respectively. This is driving back and forth to work mostly, which is usually about 75% open freeway and 25% traffic jam. 6.2 l/100km = 37.9 mpg 6.1 l/100km = 38.6 mpg Canadian GM site's efficiency estimates are 7.2 city / 4.6 hwy / 6.0 combined (pretty close to what I got). This translates to 32.7 city / 51.1 hwy / 39.2 combined. American estimates are 28 city / 42 hwy (seems very low to me)

How much car can you afford?
When I first got my job, I was making $45k/year. The apartment I found was $950/mo. That's also when I bought the Cobalt. After paying my $440/mo car payments, insurance, gas, rent, food and some reasonable entertainment, I was just breaking even every month. Mind you, this was also back when I was getting raped by the insurance companies for having totalled the Sunfire, and was paying $5700/yr for insurance. So if your insurance company doesn't rape you that bad, you can probably afford more car than I did.

Unn Effing Believable...
The charges would really piss me off. Hell, they would piss me off if they happened here in Canada. It's even more ridiculous that it's happening in a place that calls itself "The land of the free".

Shit Son...
I know I joined somewhere before October 2002, because I posted about the crashing of my Sunfire that happened in that month.
