Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
He showed and told you exactly why yet you think it has to do with length when he clearly told you otherwise.

VW News: ID. Buzz World Premiere, A Bulli for the 21st Century!
The blatant lack of context around here is earning me a long needed break because there really are better things to do with my time than going back and forth with folks who have already made up their minds before even posting.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Good grief. Not debating the difference in price with school buses. What I found odd, and hence why I provided an article about it, os that CITY BUSES are much more closely priced. Why are EV school busses such a big jump over gas buses is beyond me when city busses are not. I guess one of the biggest differences would be the total lack of AC in school buses when compared to city buses but there has to be more to it than that. And I would love to know which part of my earlier post is "funny". And since there is this thinking that up front price is the be all, end all, I submit some context on the claims. https://www.publicpower.org/periodical/article/electric-buses-mass-transit-seen-cost-effective

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Deflection because, as a matter of percentages, there are more luxury cars on the EV side than IC. EVs started with luxury cars so it is easily explained. And the Equinox is another GM EV and it's shooting for $30K so...

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Well since one is skewed by a relative abundance of luxury EVs, that is not surprising. What should “surprise” everyone is how the IC new vehicle transaction price was $41K barely six months ago. $500K for an EV bus is cheaper than current diesel options. This was written three years ago, https://www.liveabout.com/bus-cost-to-purchase-and-operate-2798845 And I quote, ”Diesel buses are the most common type of bus in the United States, and they cost around $550,000 per vehicle (according to a 2016 study).”

And that will be a LWB version that the states will get which includes a larger battery pack. As far as "zero options", there is nothing to confirm that. Furthermore, it is entirely possible that it doesn't need "options", which is a loaded and subjective word anyway. And yes, near $50K is steep but again, let's see how it is actually packaged here first before damning another EV on price alone. Being that it will use the same setup as a top trim ID.4, I don't see why it won't have AWD.

Joke Thread
Yet your initial comparison was a smaller Rivian. That's what I am getting at here and thanks for the correction. I guess I could have looked at your Ride thread but I didn't. My point about comparing your truck to a Rivian still stands though. So you are using your exception to the rule as a basis for that gap? That is not "apples to apples" because if you were shopping both currently then you sure as hell would not have scored your GMC for $8K LESS than MSRP and that is a simple fact. You would be paying closer to $60K around here.

Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
Going to have to disagree with you there. Chevy has not one direct competitor for Jeep, and definitely when it comes to true off road SUVs like the Wrangler. I’m not sweating the naming use of the Blazer like Mr fake outrage above but to say that Chevy competes with Jeep is a reach. …or EQS, EQE, etc.

VW News: ID. Buzz World Premiere, A Bulli for the 21st Century!
I don’t know if I’ve ever said this about a VW but I really want that! I have never been a fan of VW but I have always had a thing for the Microbus.

Joke Thread
It matters when you are comparing your full size short bed truck to a smaller shorter bed truck when the Lightning more closely aligns with your truck, all things equal outside of the powertrain of mode of propulsion of course. The main difference between yours and the Lightning is that yours is not a full four doors, if memory serves me right. A crew cab will always cost more than an extended cab, regardless of whether is an EV or IC, certain packages notwithstanding.

Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
That is not really a redesign to me. That is a refresh and I sincerely hope for something a little more new for the EV version but it does not look promising. I realize that I am also probably in the minority here.

Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
It just occurred to me that the IC Blazer is getting a redesign for 2023 so while an EV version won't look like this current IC Blazer, I am still wondering how much of a distinction there will be between the two.

Joke Thread
No "Mulberry lane" to go over again. You compared your full size truck to a non-full size truck SMK. Oh and $48K? Maybe I missed that part on your thread.

Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
Doesn't really show a whole lot but am I the only who feels like this is not going to look all that different from the IC Blazer?
-
Joke Thread
Fair point but I wold like to point out that the Rivian is, again, not a full size truck like yours. The Ford Lightning is though and it is well south of $79K.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
Umm, yeah it is. Eventually, those IC models are being dumped for their EV counterparts and thus far (judging by the EQS and EQE), it literally doesn't look pretty. These changes you are referring to are all stop gaps while they transition to EV, so yes, they are getting dumped before the end of the decade. You had to go two generations back to find a Vette it can run with? Really? That's your bar here?

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
No one has, up until this point, and no one will if they have a set of eyes and read about the many criticisms of said design. Sorry but that is purely fanboy talk there. Then the fact that they retaining part of the lettering scheme is 100% irrelevant and pointless.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
Question. Is this a VW thread or Mercedes thread? I’m asking because you keep harping on the same damn thing that clearly only matters to you. It just comes off as more deflection from the legitimate criticisms heaped towards your favorite brand. That is what makes no sense around here. And they are failing miserably at it this far. See previous this entire thread and supported articles as proof. All they are doing is ruining the names of the S Class and E Class with those boring and horrible designs that don’t even begin to resemble the cars they are meant to replace. Not even a semblance of “heritage” in there. Knowing that, it makes “keeping the name” seem pretty damn pointless.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
Yeah, what do I know? I simply quoted actual reviews from actual people who actually drive them extensively and they all pretty much had the same opinions about the EQ sedans. Good f@#king god man! All of those cars are going bye bye once they go all EV, just like Benz issuing "EQ" in front of theirs. Furthermore, you talk a big game defending a company who has change their lettering on more than occasion. ML/GLK? GL/GLS? That's just for starters so please save us this bit about naming issues from a brand that doesn't even compete with Benz in the first damn place. Save that for Audi. Shhhhh! He's not supposed to acknowledge that. Any Mercedes fan that can make excuses for the ugliness that is the EQS and EQE, is capable of ignoring anything that's right in front of their face.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
@smk4565-A quote from A comparo between the EQS and Lucid Air. Regarding the EQS, ”Finish, fitment, and quality is typical Mercedes perfection, but materials are good, not great. There's a marked use of plastic where it should/would be metal on its traditional gas-powered namesake.” ”The rest of the EQS' cabin is relatively straightforward and familiar, though if we hold fast to the idea of this serving as the S-Class of EVs, the interior is the largest disconnect. There's plenty of limo-esque legroom, but thanks to battery packaging and overall odd proportions, rear passengers have a tall knee angle thanks to a high floor that could prove uncomfortable for some. Still, both front and back seats are large and very comfortable, lending a lounge-like feel to the whole experience.” and lastly (in the same comparison) ”Add to this poor visibility, high frontal cowl, acres of LED accent lighting, and the slab of infotainment screen, and this is one of the most inelegantly presented non-AMG Mercedes we've interacted with in some time, at least by some staffer's standards.” Now show us the “best or nothing” in any of the above statements and hands on review of said Mercedes. Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
Again, ID is for the electrics. And of course there isn’t a “4” before that because there are ALL NEW CARS and platforms. FFS. It’s just common sense and you are still deflecting from the fact Mercedes has underwhelmed with their “best or nothing” offerings. He has to though. He can’t handle the fact that Benz that not put out the best or nothing with their EQ sedans. Just pure fanboy deflection. I’ve got some bad news for you. Unless you opt for the hyper screen setup and the package that accompanies it, the Benz interiors are garbage too. And what is this “Tech” that only Mercedes has? It sure as hell isn’t design “tech”, that’s for sure.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
@smk4565 I guess it never occurred to you that VW uses "ID" the same way that Benz uses "EQ". The EV microbus is posing to be the ID Buzz, for example so maybe you need to find some other gripe that only you seem to care about.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
Who freakin cares? I love you forgot that the named VWs are all ICE cars while this one is EV. Makes sense to have some naming distinction here. And if you took the Benz badge off of the EQS/E, no one would know it was actually a Mercedes, which is the core problem with the "best or nothing". Keep deflecting but it does not change the many negatives here regarding Benz. It's that simple. After one look at the base model variants of both Benz EVs, you would have to high on the pot to believe that nonsense. There it is. The old "they have X coming, and they have Y coming..." line. Irrelevant to what they have out RIGHT NOW. What are you not getting here? All I am saying is that are off to a $h!ty start if the EQS and the EQE are any indications. They can keep that jellybean mess.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Announce Two All-Electric Performance Saloons, Is It The Best or Nothing?
And those are just for the much higher priced AMG models. Everything else is as I and Dave listed. My point was that maybe you need to leave out top speed as a criticism of other makes when your own favorite isn't exactly burning it up down the road. Keep polishing that turd though lol. But somehow "EQS" and "EQE" just roll off the tongue. LMAO! Deflection as this is a Benz thread and not a VW one. One can also say that Benz isn't really trying to be competitive either with their bland and homogenous designs for the "future". Actually, a lot of folks have already said that so...
