  1. So (after yet another page wasted on German car fans), I just want to say this. This is only the beginning for the C8 and for once, I am looking forward to seeing what they put out next.
  2. Again, missing the point with your apples to oranges comparisons. That Miata does not race in the same series as the Vette any damn way. The point here is that IT IS BUILT FROM A ROAD SERIES RACING VETTE. Show me the Miata or Ferrari in this race. Maybe you missed where F1 racing isn't the only high speed racing on the planet earth. https://www.imsa.com/weathertech/results/ And again, only YOU are comparing the Vette to F1 cars because you don't think it's actually from a race car. This is from the road series racing Vette. Familiarize yourself.
  3. And missing that point by a mile. The point is that the Vette did it without the turbos whereas that was the only choice the Germans had or were capable of doing at the time. Furthermore, you act like they are the only ones advancing while commenting on a thread about a MID-ENGINE Corvette that also has hybrid plans because duh, they don't sit still with one idea. Maybe you missed it, but the company that owns the Vette is also going electrified.

Toyota also gave the option to replace their Tacomas (pretty sure that’s what you’re referring to). Also, this is a $100K luxury SUV we are talking about, not a twenty year old Tacoma that only developed its issue after exposure to rust, unlike that Slade being defective right off the bat.

    Stupid/dumb.
  6. Maybe you should read this article, detailing some of that ride quality you think won't exist because of the engine. Judging by your normal level of non-researched criticisms here, it should be very informative for you and help you see where you are wrong regarding the ride quality. https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2023-chevrolet-corvette-z06-c8-first-ride-review/
  7. Funny. It mattered to you in the past whenever it suited you. (see any Tesla thread)
  8. By that same token, German fanboys like yourself touted those high revving engines while slamming the push rod origins of the Vette. Now that they are moving towards a more modern setup for it, you try to flip the script by saying "Well, Vette fans talked smack about then" while ignoring your own levels of smack talk about push rod engines from GM. And I'm sorry, but I (and anyone with common sense) will take 670HP N/A track oriented demon over some twin turbo driven nonsense that will add to the grenade factor before you hit 75K miles. BTW, Lamborghini sales are up because of an SUV being in their lineup now. Last I checked, the Urus doesn't compete with the Vette so their original point stands.
  9. Sorry but the only thing those engines have in common is the "5.5L". Everything else is literally apples to oranges between the two. Good grief. Of course they are talking about performance. Stop trying to take passive piss on GM just because it's a Chevy that will run down cars costing three times the dough while having a fraction of the long term reliability. You knew, from the start, what they were talking about. Then might I suggest expanding your race car knowledge? Again, no one had that misconception of a thought other than the resident Mercedes fan looking to take more pot shots at a domestic.

Nope. Just on loud ass motorcycles (I am not involved in your discussion with David so leave me out of that).

How about this, since you want to wax semantics over it? More often than not, most Harley riders, I’ve come across, are exactly how I described them. Of course there are exceptions but I never said “all” in the first place so I really don’t need to qualify my statement any further if you’re going to put words into my mouth. Loud pipes are, again, chest puffing accessories.

I personally used to hang with a bunch of them so it is more accurate and common than you realize lol.

Most Harley owners are like most lifted truck owners. Overcompensating and annoying for no reason other than to puff out their worthless chests..
  14. Not an Audi fan but that (along with the Taycan) is one good looking car, EV or otherwise. Very aggressive styling for them. Perhaps just leaving the title be is in order here.
  15. Which is not the same thing as what I said but okay lol. Point being what does it mater the name of the thread?
  16. The titles are literally one and the same. Cars and trucks you think are beautiful are also just stuff you like and this is a car appreciation site, after all.

I would be sick to my stomach if I were any of those owners. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/watch-horror-truckload-c8-corvettes-174400646.html
  18. You definitely got your use out of it and the problems you did have was kind of a common thing with most of the full size trucks and rust issues. It happens. You still got a lot miles and use out of it though. A little rust is the price you pay sometimes lol.
  19. Sure about that? The Nissan Leaf starts at about $2K more than the Equinox. Most ICE cars don’t even start anywhere near $20K anymore. $25-30K is probably going to be the baseline for BEVs.

Amazon is a very different kind of operation though and more multifaceted than your average car dealership. They are nothing more than eBay with just a Buy It Now format for various sellers. Not the most accurate comparison. Also, read the entire discussion on this because I've already covered the buyers choice aspect of this.

    Correction: "After you get there"
  22. surreal1272 replied to TaurusSHO's post in a topic in The Lounge
But those prices set from the get go. It's not like they sell them for $30 a pop and then, after you when you get there, double the price because of hype. You know, from the start, those are the prices. These dealerships operate on a. much sneakier level and have for decades and no amount of defense by their supporters will change that fact, especially when I have worked for some of those places and seen it first hand. Let me put it another way. iPhones are hyped every year and sometimes there is a shortage on those for a few months due to the hype. Now imagine going to Verizon, Bestbuy, or wherever else they are sold and they decide to sell them at 50% above Apple's MSRP because of said hype. People would lose their minds and then Apple swoops in to pull those iPhones from said shops because they do not allow retailers to sell above their asking price. Honestly, that is what Ford should do to these dealerships that do that because it just hurts Ford's reputation in the long run and makes them look greedy as well. Not a good PR look.
  23. surreal1272 replied to TaurusSHO's post in a topic in The Lounge
Not what I am talking about at all. The dealership had no stake in the development or production of the vehicle. They are nothing more than a Bestbuy for cars except they have to cover commission for their mostly useless sales staff.
