  1. Really nice early 50's chev pick-em up, and a nice black GMC truck from the same era. Chris
  2. They do...this is a major F.U. Off topic story though about GM frames. Our Safari was hit behind by a damned SEMI TRUCK. My wife was sitting at a red light and she was hit from behind by a truck doing about 25 m.p.h. It pushed the Safari THROUGH the intersection and about 30 feet beyond. When the body shop went to fix the frame, they pulled the Safari onto the frame rack and pulled a few measurements....still to perfect factory specs. That after being ass-ended by 80,000 pounds of fully loaded coal truck. The body guy just backed it off of the frame rack, and the body shop issued a credit to the insurance co. Now THAT is a damned frame! Chris
  3. Cool site, thanks! Chris
  4. Who makes the best Heavy duty shocks for a Safari van? I use it for hauling and I may soon be using it for some towing, and I need an upgrade. Chris
  5. How much dead dinosaur juice is your G6 drinking? Trying to talk a friend into buying one, and would like some real world numbers from owners, please. Chris
  6. ...and Oh, yeah, I am at the Library writing this now. As soon as I leave here I'm headed over a few blocks to the Pontiac dealer to see this thing up close. Chris
  7. Jesus, it is so amazingly good to see the American car back on the road. Big, comfortable, V8 power, style, presence...even if it is built in Austrailia. I am the resident C&G small car fan and this thing has me in a sort of automotive lust I haven't known in a good 25 years. Chris
  8. I've found that in large, flashy dealerships I usually get treated like crap. In smaller stores in outlying areas or family owned type buisnesses in Urban areas I'm treated pretty well. This A.M. I got the Safari Van serviced at Firestone. I had a WONDERFUL talk with the African-American women who was getting here Hyundai serviced at the same time. Angie, the woman at the counter treated us both with a lot of respect. It's cool when things go well. Chris
  9. While I am voting Democratic in the fall, it pains me greatly to think that I could be furthering the union cause by doing so. I also am sick to death of unions. Chris
  10. ...agreed. let them sit home without pay for six months and we'll see how well they feed their kids and how well they make their house payments. Chris
  11. Cool! $1000 Cash towards the Astra or the G6. Now if my Scion xB were only paid off, I would be in the showroom in a heartbeat. Chris
  12. Here is actually to keeping the B-59. That car is really unique and cool, and I personally would be very sad to see it go. Chris
  13. From the front, and in that Color, that Acura is a sweet looking car. Chris
  14. Off topic I know...but, ...and another rare MT Chevy I think I've told Ya'll about before. Back in 69 my friend Alan ordered a new 69 Camaro, red on red, with a 350 4v and a Close ratio 4 speed. He chickened out on the 350 and ordered a 307 instead, but forgot to change the tranny choice on the order form. That was probably the only red on red 307 4 speed 69 Camaro the general ever built! Sadly, Alan went blind a few years later and had to sell the car. Interestingly, he learned to play chess after he was blind and went on to play in the national blind chess championship several years in a row. Great guy! I'm glad he got to enjoy that Camaro before he lost his sight. Chris
  15. There were MT cars in that gen I think also, but again very rare. Chris
  16. White car, black roof, black interior would be fine also. That was the way my 70 Chevelle was done, and I always thought that was a good looking combo. Chris
  17. Wow, a Gallardo! Sorry to hear your car died Lamar, methinks both of us are in for an upgrade. Chris
  18. You boys need to take it out back and duke it out. When one of you knocks the other on his ass, get up, shake hands, dust yourselves off and come back in here and be Civil. Having owned a 70 and a 71 Chevelle with no "B" pillar, I can see Sixty-Eights point. Chris
  19. Given some of the delusional ideas we've posted here, why should we start wanting reality now? Esp. when making stuff up out of thin air is so much more fun. Chris
  20. There is a shop right down the street from Edison Electrical Supply, (down on McKinley) that has about a dozen GM cars like this in progress at all times. Every time I go pick something up for a job we have to go wire, I just want to weep. Today out front: Two Cutlasses similar to BV's. SS Monte of the 84-87 Variety Two Caprices 70's Impala 3rd gen Camaro. This look is sadly becoming very popular. Chris
  21. Doubt I'd leave where you are now, but good luck and like Bob said, keep us posted! Chris
  22. Astra has got to be the most under rated car on the planet right now. GM really did a great job with this one. If the next Cobalt is anywhere near this damned good things are going to get ugly in the small car market. Chris
  23. It's a WOW car for sure, sity eight. and I have regretted not buying a couple of Black on black Monte's. They jsut look "right" that way. My son Joel loves black cars, so this would be a great father/son car for us. Gonna check and see when the auction ends. Chris
