GTI does better...I've talked to several owners, and Grasroots motorsports also did a comparo when the two cars came out. I'd be all over a GTI...or a Rabbit. they are both great cars. A diesel Rabbit, that would just be the cat's ass... Chris

Sixty Eight...you love the B-59, the Bannana Boat is loved by your daughter (sofia, if I recall her name correctly). Don't sell either one. If you want a real world reliable Euro car, get an Astra or a Rabbit. If you want cheap by a first gen GTI in decent shape. $2000-$5000 in decent shape, handles great, 35-40 m.p.g., cool car with a huge cult following. Or get a decent first or second gen Neon, the damned near give them away and they are great cars. But don't sell one of your beloved classics...that would be IMHO STUUUPID....but do what you want. Or you could buy a Prius and join your buddy Satty in the Joys of Toyota onwership (Chris ducks as the spare tire from the bannana boat flys his way.) Chris

I'd gladly pay Euro gas prices and Euro gas taxes if I could have a good, subsidzed rail system, better police, better highways, better environmental controls, better schools, and all of the other "betters" that the europeans have. Government can't give away services...and I'd rather pay $7.80 for gas, drive less in a smaller car, and have the services. Chris

...off topic but the 1.8 Integra was one of the sweetest cars Honda ever came out with. Hard to find here in Ohio not beaten to death...but I saw a really nice white 2 door V-tec Integra the other day (not a type R) on a car lot that was clean as a pin. A type R integra would be on my short list of cool cars. Also glad to see you don't drive an autotrajic... Chris

Scary thing is how many Prius they are selling. I checked the Carmax website the other day...and there was just ONE Prius available nationwide via Carmax. The price of gas has done miracles for Toyota and the Prius. Chris

Ethanol or a product like ti IS the wave of the future. Bazil gets a huge portion of there energy from ethanol, there is no reason we can't do the same. Chris
