  1. Hmmm... '61, '62, '66, '71-'72, '78-'79, '94-'96.
  2. While I'm one of those that loves thunderstorms, it must be hell to feel so helpless as your home is lost. Glad to hear you're ok, Mustang. Check out that old Lumina on her roof and the white Grand Prix with the peeled hood.
  3. Isn't it cool as hell? Yup, I've always heard it called a Catalina 2+2. For some reason, it comes to mind as Car & Driver magazine's all-time quickest car to 60 mph... something like 3.2 seconds? I know those 421s and 428s had monster torque, but there must have been a prollem with their test equipment that day... or Pontiac loaned them a "ringer".

Premium Member Package? For some reason, I really like the sound of that.
  5. I think someone's selling an '05 GTO in a divorce settlement for $500, do you want it, Vipes? :bs:

Both cars were timed for speed, I'm sure, although those figures aren't posted in the quick articles. It appears both cars were loaned to AW for about 2 weeks.

I really want to see this, but I fear it won't be shown here in backcountry Lancaster. I may have to go to DC or Philadelphia to see it.

The Honda, a subcompact, about 2800 pounds with 197 hp. The Dodge, a fullsize, about 3800 pounds with 250 hp.
  9. Well, like yah. :AH-HA_wink:

They praise both cars for their fun-to-drive character, yet the Dodge turned in almost 2 mpg better, on average, than the EPA estimates, and the Honda turned in almost 8 mpg worse than the EPA. I feel these are real-world figures based on the way any enthused owner would drive these cars.
  11. Nah, how about a 240 hp 3.9L? I guess since the G6 has grown in size over the Grand Am, and actually has a longer wheelbase than that GP, they wouldn't have done what I suggest, even though a RWD car has a completely different character than FWD. The Autoweek article this week on the 3.5L Charger praises the car for it's lively engine and RWD chassis, making it fun to drive. I just wish GM had something to counter the LXs.

So many str8 boys wanted to be with her, so many gay boys wanted to be her. (NOT including me, but I like her stuff.)
  13. It had to be a late model last-gen car because it had the polished, non-5 spoke rims on it. It really hit home for me, seeing this car, that Pontiac should have offered a six cylinder alternative available on the GTO body shell, called it a LeMans or Tempest, and watched the sales come in much better than the $32k V8 Goat. I firmly believe that a six cylinder model would have ensured the GTO's success, and there would have been no question there'd be a modern gen II car.

In this week's Autoweek "Driver's Log", they tested an '06 Civic Si and an '06 Charger 3.5L SE. As tested fuel mileage, Civic: 17.79 mpg As tested fuel mileage, Charger: 23.7 mpg Now I know they had to rev the piss out of the Civic to get it moving, but this is ridiculous. You know these guys leadfooted the Dodge as well, which makes these results all the more hilarious.
  15. I always liked the notchback 240s better than the hatchbacks. That's a nice car, but I think it's overpriced. Is there really that much demand for these? I guess, with the drifting craze going on.

New Quattroporte, '73 Sedan DeVille in beautiful shape for sale in someone's yard, among a host of others on the way to the Philly area today.
  17. Well, I was late leaving the tire shop (had to put new tires on the truck at 27k miles because of a bad factory alignment and neglect on my part... I never rotated the Generals it came with), and Sixty was also running late... so we missed each other today. <_<
  18. Question: which Cher song will Jeep use to launch the new Patriot? :)
  19. Hmmm... which brings to mind another point. I wonder if Fleetwood, the maker of camper trailers and mobile homes, is a descendant of the company that made bodies for Cadillac? EDIT: with a little research, it seems they are two totally different entities, with the motorhome/camper/house company founded in California in 1950, and the Fleetwood coachworks started in Fleetwood, PA in 1909 and integrated into GM by 1931. I think "Fleetwood" is a very cool name, evoking speed and old-world luxury in one word.
  20. The silver Solstice in the pics has foglamps, in the lower half of the lamp assembly. Cars without fogs fill the same hole with a bigger signal lamp. Someone posted pics here of a non-fog Solstice a while back. The screws are there to hold the lamp into the bumper. Without the screws, the lamp would fall out on the parking lot and people would laugh. It's a good setup that allows quick, easy changing of bulbs for owners, instead of taking splash shields, etc., out from under the bumper and pulling it out from the back side. That license plate frame is a tragedy. The dealer must have bought it at auction from a state that requires a front plate.

I seem to remember I had a custom member title once, back in the day. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Looks like I'll be meeting Sixty8, Landscaper and Camino sometime today. I talked with Sixty yesterday on the phone.
  23. Cool lookin' truck, Turbo. I like those accessory rims.
  24. EEEwwwww, that's enough to make any guy order up an extra helping of sausage.
  25. The imPALuh guys are correct because that is the way the creator, Chevrolet, pronounces it. STEP ASIDE, son! :AH-HA_wink:
