Old Car Mags
Roger, if you want them for certain, I can keep them for a little while. I just need to know that they are really going. I'll get some boxes and pack them up. Oh, and my brochures are going nowhere.

GM and Chevy to address the FRS, GT-86 and BRZ?
I always found a 911 to be a bit of a disconcerting drive. Yes, it handles - but it feels like it doesn't. At any rate, I'd expect a first class job of tuning on any 130 -derived production car. Otherwise, what's the use in producing a small RWD product in the first place?

I may have finally sold my Jag
Shouldn't be a problem since I have an NOS grille, fender emblems, and horn button you can sell to the Chevy guys!

Project Mothertruck
Ha! Good point, Horse. Roger: Interesting example there, in many ways Mothertruck is much cleaner than that one due to its long inside storage. Mine is also a touch better equipped and was technically a Silverado in trim level. Not sure if I ever told the story of how I got the truck, maybe I'll do that soon.

Review: 2013 Volvo S60 T6 AWD R-Design
Good question, Drew. I don't see why not, but it could be. That seems more likely, especially since the R design is US only.

Old Car Mags
OK guys, if anyone local would like to have these magazines (and I mean ALL of them), you can have them free of charge. I'd rather not deal with shipping, unless you want to handle it, and I want them gone soon, but I'd rather give them away than put them out for recycling. I take the recycling to the end of the lane on thursday nights, so speak up before next thursday if you want them.

Too bad. A manual would make the car more engaging.

Review: 2013 Volvo S60 T6 AWD R-Design
Love the quality presentation of the article - nice to see things stepped up a notch. I can't say that the car does all that much for me, especially considering the price tag. But, I too like the simplicity of the interior - though I would forego the easter-egg blue exterior. Is a manual offered?

GM and Chevy to address the FRS, GT-86 and BRZ?
No flu. It's RWD, a two-door, has an interesting bodystyle, likely a manual trans, and the utility of a decent-sized cargo area. As long as the power to weight ratio is good, I'm in. Would I rather a V8? Of course, but the rest is right in line with what I want. I'll never buy a new sedan, nor anything FWD, so this is about as good as it gets in this lousy automotive environment.

Commuting
I'd look for a ultra low mile Solstice or Sky.

LOL@ Z No, he doesn't know Russian, but we had a good laugh over it while he was checking out the car. Thanks for the good wishes, this has been a long time coming.

I'm becoming annoyed
I don't know DF, and that's the problem. That looks like it might work, but the design of it is entirely different than the Snap-On version.

Yeah, something like that. Plus, I now will have room to work on Mothertruck. It requires serious acreage when you have things apart.

I'm with you, Roger. Makes no sense to me.

I may have finally sold my Jag
I got phone confirmation today that they intend to take the car. It should leave by the end of next week - hopefully sooner. The guy promises to send me pics of the project.

I'm becoming annoyed
If you guys remember from the top-end overhaul on my green tahoe, I borrowed a special puller to remove the power steering pulley from the pump. The tool I borrowed was a Snap-on and it costs about $150. Here's the problem, I want to buy an equivalent puller kit. The trouble is, though many are out there on the market, I can find no application information beyond "fits most GM". Many of the descriptions on these puller/installer kits list a few engines they apply to, but none I could find list a GM 5.7! I know that some parts houses will loan out the tools, but I want to buy a set that covers a few models I expect to mess with in the future. I'll be needing to do this repair on the Red Tahoe soon, and sure, I could borrow the tool again, but I'd like to own one. Blows my mind that I can't find a listing that confirms a given puller works with one of the most common engines on the planet! Anyone have any brands with part numbers that are confirmed to work?

OK, I'm really becoming fixated on that 130 "Nomad". I know it's just vaporware, but I think I should have one! Me, getting excited over a small car, so very rare!

We'll see. I'll just be happy to get final confirmation that they are taking it tonight or tomorrow. The car would be going to Allentown.

I may have finally sold my Jag
A guy doing a restoration on an XJ-12 just looked at it and is fairly certain he will be taking it as a donor car since it is far more sound overall than the one he's been working on. Interestingly, the plan includes repowering it with a Benz diesel.
