New Pontiac Firebird in 2009?
To answer the question, I think that Pontiac should and will be almost entirely RWD/AWD in the years to come. However, I don't think they will all be small cars. The new line of "small, agile, rwd cars" we have heard about is likely to be what amounts to Kappa II, and I'd look for it about the time the current Solstice/Sky have run their course. I expect Zeta-lite Pontiacs long before the small cars show up.

GTO discontinued?

I was so upset Sunday
Wow FOG, you seem to have luck like mine. One question: Do you have that roll of tape handy?

New Pontiac Firebird in 2009?
This is what I believe we can count on: There will be a RWD sedan and coupe for Pontiac on the Zeta-lite architecture and that there will be a performance version of the coupe. Most likely it will be named GTO, although I'm sure the name Firebird comes up in the planning meetings often. The Firebird name is most likely to remain dead for the forseeable future as it is way too closely tied to Camaro and thus, would undermine GM's efforts to differentiate the brands if used. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

GTO discontinued?
The exact moonroof offered by Holden for the Monaro is available here if you want one.I have no problem with the size of the trunk - plenty of room for me so far.

GTO discontinued?
You can't be serious.

GTO discontinued?
No such animal- he must be thinking of "Cyclone Grey"

GTO discontinued?
I believe that that's exactly what we are going to get and GTO will be part of it.

Do you think Bin Laden will be caught?
The threats are much bigger than Bin Laden and will remain after he is gone. What I find inexcusable is the fact that we haven't gotten him yet. Forget the excuses I want results - the man must be made to pay. No other result is satisfactory, period.

Oldsmobile Dork
It reminds me of my '67 Delmont 88.

ok, I've pretty much decided...
BTW, it looks like my dad's 1 of 6 prototype 1998 Firehawk and all of my Firehawk collection of fun stuff will be offered along with my car as a single collection- probably as an auction. I'll keep you all posted.

GTO discontinued?
Let's just suppose that the GTO wasn't a stand alone model anymore and therefore is believed to be gone from the automotive landscape but a new RWD sedan and coupe were coming for Pontiac. Sneaking the GTO back in as the all out performance sub-model of the new coupe would be no big deal now would it? :AH-HA_wink:

Officially, the documentation of my car comes from SLP as Firehawk was their product and not GM's (even though the package carries a GM RPO). Everyone that pays attention to the F-body boards already knows about my car and it is signed by Ed Hamburger,Dave Hamburger, Scott Settlemire,Reg Harris,My initial contact at SLP, and the tech who did the work. The Job tag is still on the windshield with the actual work order#. It was signed and dated the day it was loaded on the transporter by the SLP staff. Scott and Ed signed it later at an SLP event. I have every e-mail between SLP and myself as well as part of a thread about my car from the old SLP board saved on my old computer. As for BJ auctions, I don't think it is feasible for me to get to one anytime soon. But I have thought about it. My car also happens to be the last 1LE F-body ever built. :AH-HA_wink:

My 'Outlook'
Already happening. We set to work on this in the admin. forum Immediately for obvious reasons. Yes we have a framework in place and will be fine-tuning it as we go forward.

Do you think Bin Laden will be caught?
I've given up on believing that the powers that be are even trying anymore.

My 'Outlook'
I have to chime in here by saying that very convincing information was presented to Josh in a seemingly calculated way and though the presentation was lacking , his only intent was to bring us all the sort of information we crave. As a member of the C&G team, I can tell you that he had our interests in mind when breaking a story he believed to be genuine. As a mod/admin I would warn anyone planning to attack his character that personal attacks against any member are against C&G rules and won't be tolerated. Finally, the fact is that Josh DID NOT publish the document that led to all of this! He relayed the news he'd received with disbelief and the proper qualifiers, at no time did he proclaim the cancellation of the Outlook. He raised the possibility. Some folks should work on their reading comprehension before jumping on a soapbox.

I don't really want an SUV, but this thing is cool - ugly color and all. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=4614333814 I had one just like it in blue (color was just as bad) but mine was a complete rust barge. This one is mega clean.

Buh-bye Seville
Recent 5 series are going to break the bank for one that's decent. Look into 3 series sedans the used prices have been dropping lately and you could even get an Xi model (AWD). The Impala SS is a fine choice. There is one in a local Trader rag around here with something like 87 original miles. I think they want 20k for it though. Edit: I just checked and it has 83 miles and they want $27,900 for it. Guess that's out.

That could work. I'd have to dump the "dubs" and get it painted all one color... Did you check out the acreage in that roof shot?
