  1. OK... so smaller then a Cobalt, but bigger then an Aveo? When are Q3 and Q4, and in this case will the reveal be a concept or production version (if production, when will it be in dealerships)? Any more information (regarding questions in this post and my past post) would be appreciated.
  2. Relative size to the Cobalt? Body styles (sedan, coupe, hatch)? How "early next year" will it be sold? Being that the 1.4L is turbocharged, is it safe to assume it will require premium fuel?
  3. Gray G8, looked really good. More and more Malibus, and a good number of new (dealer plate) Outlooks.
  4. All my Legos are gone, but I do have my Construx and Capsela sets.
  5. I travel by train, so I'm in no way trying to say it's bad. I'm just saying that for long distances trains don't rival planes. I can fly from LAX to Albuquerque in less than 3 hours, or I can take the Amtrak and do it in about three times that. If there was high speed service would I use it? Sure.
  6. Do you not travel by air? Do you know how much it would suck if airfare got so much more expensive? There are other reasons besides price competitiveness that make people fly, rather then ride a train. Do you really want to waste days traveling, when you can already be enjoying your destination?
  7. My first G8, a white GT, going south on the 5 through the OC.
  8. This really throws a wrench into my near-future car buying/leasing plans... I was having a hard enough time deciding between a Cobalt coupe or Jetta TDI (I know, neither is in the same "league" but I've been considering both for their seperate merits), and now with this news it totally screws up my train of thought! Edit: that "new Honda hybrid" thread is screwing with me too!!!
  9. Don't trees convert oxygen back to carbon dioxide at night? Or did I totally misunderstand elementary school science?
  10. How soon is "early?"
  11. By the process of elimination, there is only one REAL '69 Camaro being shown (the top one), therefore it has to be the one that looks stupid (whether or not it really does).
  12. Ouch. So, did your friend tell you he's not your pal?
  13. Sure it would look better and be cooler to not have the B-pillar. But, as a Camaro fan, I don't care that the new one will have a B-pillar. In fact, I don't like driving with the windows down, so it doesn't really matter to me.
  14. What we have to remember is, Sixty8 is NOT a fan of Camaros. He is simply a fan of "hard-tops" and anything without a B-pillar. Once we all come to that realization then the world (at least the new Camaro threads) will be a better place.
  15. Still waiting for that internet money? How's that working out for you guys?
  16. I was very close on selling myself on the 5-door. I agree with you about the looks, inside and out. I don't mind the (lack of) performance but the more I researched the car the more I found that, while the EPA mpg ratings are good, fuel economy drops off pretty fast at speeds above 65mph (from 32 to 22 mpg hwy). Even this wouldn't be a problem, except I'll be taking the car to New Mexico where, aside from being at altitude (~7,200 ft), highway speeds can be in the 70's. Have you researched fuel economy and seen the same?
  17. A lot more new Malibus in So Cal since I got back from my 5 week (work) trip to New Mexico.
  18. Scratch the Astra, apparently mpg drops significantly at speeds above 65 mph. I think I'll just be getting a Cobalt coupe with the 2.2L and a 5M instead.
  19. Well, I haven't had to drive the SS much while in San Diego since the University offers free shuttle and local bus service. But, it looks like I'll be going to work in New Mexico for a few years, and I've been looking into something small, efficient (both in terms of fuel and packaging), reliable, sub $20k... the 4 door Astra is currently topping the list. edit: This doesn't mean I'll be ditching the SS!
  20. So... is the Astra info out yet?
  21. AAS replied to 01Malibu's topic in Chevrolet
    Anybody?

So... when exactly is this new Cobalt coming?
  23. Hopefully it's a delete-able option, just like traction control (and rear defrost) was on my SS.
  24. For being "SO retro," the Challenger makes the Mustang look old/dumpy. Regardless of my preference, I can't wait to see the Challenger on the road.
  25. Mexico offers the Astra with the 2.0L (200 hp @ 5,400 rpm, 193 @ 4,200 rmp) and 6M. Is it not assembled in Mexico? If the Astra is manufactured in Mexico, then why don't ours come from there too? Certification?
