Price your Lucerne.
I have to say, I'm extremely impressed with the pricing of this car. I mean, really really impressed. I was sure it would have started at the LeSabre's price and come with nothing, and then BLOW past the Park Avenue's base price for the V8. You really get a lot for your money!

Mine too, but I didn't see the Harmon/Kardon option on there

Not sure how to do this... there'd be the price of the "realistic" Lucerne I'd buy, and then the price of the one I want LOL

I think the materials are very nice, but the design/layout was poorly implemented.

Nissan Note
Instead of hanging dice from the rearview mirror, the car comes with complementary hanging odor-eaters.

When I think of shifters, I think floor shift--sporty. Column shift, luxury. It's flimsy, but it's one of those things that went in my brain when I was little and it's just permanent now

Good eye Tailfin... I didn't notice it at all. I would hope it'd be standard on all models--it looks like a nice touch.

Well, the Lucerne's interior is light years ahead of the LeSabre and even Park Avenue's. It's just so much warmer, richer, inviting, and of a higher quality. I honestly think the CX trim doesn't look bad... the chrome grille looks great. Yes, the wheels look a little small--I would have gone with 17" aluminum standard on the CX and CXL with option 18's on the CXL and standard on the CXS. But then again, I would have changed a bunch of things for the Lucerne--standard auto climate control. 3.6L base engine, etc.

New Buick Tagline
Ugh, the 3900 better be mated to the new 6-speed. I dread to see the fuel economy numbers be as low as the Northstar (which has an excuse, it's an 8) Happy B-Day Ven!! :)

See, thats' why I didn't mention Pontiac because I wasn't sure if they were LED or not. I didn't think they were.

I remember reading that it was being considered to give the 3.6L direct injection, but I hadn't realized it was to come true.

Re: the optitron gauges in the Camry... I agree. I am an instrument panel maniac... it is just my thing. The optitron gauges make the IP look so much more upscale. I mean, c'mon, the gauges in a Corolla look more upscale in my opinion than any gauge available in a Chevy or Buick, sans Lucerne (because although they're not LED, the style of the font, layout, and boldness of the blue make the gauges look a little classy). I mean, c'mon, so many Asian makes have LED gauges... IMO, they seem so much clearer to look at and they appear classier.

Pimp My Ride never ceases to...
God, I wish my car could go on there just to get a new dash (it was cracked when someone broke into my car to steal my CD player) and a new exterior paint job (no flames on the side... don't need to advertise I'm a flamer LOL), just a nice little dark blue paint job. Maybe some conservative rims (c'mon, it's a Century--there's no point in trying to make it look like it might be a fast car). Other than that, the car is maintained, and the engine is still fairly young (only 95,600 miles)

New Buick Tagline
I'm hoping that the 3800 is out by 2007 in Buicks. Actually, aren't Buicks the only cars that use it anymore? It's a great engine and all, but the media is really harping on its age and unrefined qualities. Throw in a DOHC standard into every Buick and people will shut up... at least a little more.

New Buick Tagline
I dunno... I thought maybe the "dream up" thing would have stayed around just another year. I mean, I like the idea that it was a transitional phase, but I'm not happy that it was so brief. Let's face it, Buick isn't exactly on the "up" yet... I wouldn't say it's in the clear. I think after the Lucerne's debut, a few months after when people see the car on the road and say, "Hey, this is a nice car" and such, then you can switch to the other slogan. I would have even waited until like 2008 to start this, because hey, the Rainier and Terraza aren't even yawn-worthy vehicles... they're more comatose in styling and excitement. LaCrosse Super, Lucerne Super (if it comes), redesigned Rendezvous, as well as another hot vehicle, and then, hey, bring on that new tagline. Too soon.

Whoah, if the new Aura is getting a 300hp version of the 3.6, that has to be with a turbo. I just thought the Aura was going to get around 250hp from the 3.6L

G. Chambers Williams III: An all-new Buick sedan
Yeah, this guy's facts are a little off. He says the Lucerne is slightly shorter than the Park Ave, being 204". The Lucerne is 203".

2006 Buick features
The wood/leather steering wheel will be made available in 2006... it isn't going to be available at the beginning of production. As for Nav, I'm not sure why, but maybe for the same reason? And Northstar, I totally agree with you... Caddy should have all windows with auto up/down features and Buick should have front seat auto up/downs and on their flagship, all four.

2006 Buick features
Okay... #1 - It's stated on the Buick website that the front and rear defrosters turn on when the remote start is used on the Lucerne and the temp is below 40 degrees. Is this true for the LaCrosse as well? It doesn't say. #2 - It says the Lucerne features a 4-speed electronically controlled transmission that is "enhanced". Enhanced in what way? Finally, why on Earth has the Lucerne only been given 1-auto down window?! I mean, even the Rainier features 2... as well as the competition mostly has dual auto down windows (with auto up). What's goin' on here? It can't cost THAT much more money, can it?
