Insane gas prices
Chevron around here is $2.49 to $2.70. Not so bad really.

Do you keep track of mileage statistics?
Cobalt (just a little over 2 months old) - 7200 Miles Wife driving - 43 mpg Me driving - 38 to 40 mpg (I gun it ALOT) Roach - 170,000+ Wife driving - 20 mpg Me driving - 12 to 14 mpg (this car needs to take off fast) T-Bird - 162,000 Me driving - 22 mpg (flooring it just keeps up with traffic)

How much do you pay for insurance?
The Cobalt had a high rating, making it $120 a month. My wife freaked because we've never paid more than $80 for insurance (full coverage with towing, etc.). Even our Alero GL2 was only $80 per month. The Roach is $70 per month.

2007 Buick Crossover
I love the interior of the concept vehicle. I hope GM starts coming out with their own interior direction instead of copying others.

Info from a reliable source.
Any ideas on engines for the new Buick SUV? Will it get DOD? Will it have better gas mileage than the Vous?

Great pick! Congrats!

Who is guilty of
Maybe we should start a car swap group. Keep the car 3 months (making payment and all), then you pass it on.

Who is guilty of
30+ years = 30+ cars. I've had more cars than years alive. Let's see if I can name them all. 1. 1977 Chevy Nova (1st GM product) 2. 1968 Volvo 144 (Uncle Olaf) 3. 1977 Volvo 244 (300k when sold, lasted over 400k before dieing) 4. 1968 Chevelle SS w/396 5. 1971 VW 411 (most break downs) 6. 1982 toyota P/U (slowest) 7. 1979 Volvo 245 8. 1974 144 9. 1969 142 10. 1968 145 (Juanita) 11. 1967 122 wagon 12. 1968 122 wagon 13. 1971 1800E (wedding present) 14. 1991 744 Turbo 15. 1985 765 Turbo (Rosemary) 16. 1990 745 Turbo (Sara) 17. 1983 244 Turbo 18. 1985 744 Turbo 19. 1989 Celebrity 20 1985 C2500 Suburban (replaced 454 engine) 21. 1988 Century 22. 1987 Century 23. 1996 Breeze (saw shop ALOT, so sold) 24. 1996 Grand Voyager (lease take over) 25. 1998 Intrigue (GREAT car that never let us down) 26. 1992 Caprice (Roach I) 27. 2002 Alero GL2 (Top 5 favorite cars) 28. 1993 T-Bird 29. 1996 Caprice (Roach II) 30. 1988 C2500 PU (Totalled title, so returned 3 months after owning) 31. 1982 242 Turbo 32. 1996 SL2 (Hated the seats and the rattles) 33. 1985 Stanza (almost as unrealiable as the VW) 34. 1996 Bravada 35. 1996 Monte Carlo (owned it, but didn't use it) 36. 2005 Cobalt (Lady Bug) I think that's it.

That is a much better picture of the car.

Minimum Wage
$7.25 on the highest in the country, and they are trying to raise it again.

GM readies new round of incentives
It's going to be painful, but they do need to shift away from incentives. As GM slowly comes out with gotta haves it will become easier to move away from gotta discounts. The problem is when they introduce the car with the discount before letting the public determine if the car needs a discount to sell.

The Thread for Crash Test Pics
I wonder if you could find a Cobalt vs Cavalier hit. Or Celebrity vs Impala. Or ???

Worlds new tallest building
I wouldn't discount America/Americans, just yet. What makes us #1 is not our ability to do something bigger, but our ability to be the first on the block to come up with the idea, and the first on the block to make the billions on the idea. China, Saudi, Japan, & India all have the same problem. Dreaming is not a part of their society. They will only go so far by copying us. In the end, as long as we are the head dreamers will be the richest country. Think of it another way. Who cares if you pay your people $0.5 an hour to do something because you have to compete with the rest of the world on a cost basis to produce something. Here in the US, the auto industry, the computer industry and the like have set the world on fire. We will continue to be the inovators because that's what we are. That's who we are. When you travel around the world you'll see they can't and don't teach about dreaming like we do here. You can't without a free press, without schools that emphasis individuality, etc.

Auto Insurance
State Farm covers our cars, house, and disability insurance. We originally used State Farm for our life insurance (something I recommend all you young people do early on), but switched to Phoenix Life as I am able to get $1,000,000 policy for only $41 per month.

Dodge Nitro - Spy pics w/ interior
I couldn't agree more, though I do wonder if the exterior fit and finish will be as bad as the interior.

Big 3 sales stall
It doesn't help that modern cars just don't break often enough to "need" to replace them.

back in the day
My kids still have most of that list in their lives. Not getting a video game, and living in a town of 2900 people helps. I don't see some of the classic things with kids now days like; 1. Riding on the handle bars 2. Happy Meals (my girls would rather have a salad bar)

back in the day
That was one of my all time favorites as a kid. I loved the slime.

The Thread for Crash Test Pics
Wow have cars come along way since the 1975 240s (the original "saftey" car).

Saturn’s Revolution
IF GM really does take from Opel and does little suspension, engine, etc. changes, I think Saturn will be a huge hit again. They key will be how much they "Americanize" the brand line.

Future Cadillac powertains
If Mercedes is using 7 speed autos, then Cadillac should jump to 8. There is no reason they should be 2nd to anyone.

Buick Lucerne quieter than Lexus ES 330
There's a good reason not to dump the 3800 just yet. There is a loyal following, especially among Buick buyers for that engine. I think it was a smart idea for Buick to keep it around a little longer, though they should have given the option of either V6.

"Lucerne ready to do battle in luxury field"
The Lucerne is a beautiful car, but does it stand out enough to capture conquest buyers or does it just tide over current Buick owners? Quality rankings will help, and I'm sure this one like all Buicks will be at the top. But what about stand out passion you say? Lexus hasn't had that and it's worked. Why not Buick?

Buick Lucerne quieter than Lexus ES 330
Great to hear GM putting high effort into sound, or reducing it. They seem to have made an effort on all of their new products. One has to wonder, just how quiet will new Buicks get?
