SPY SHOTS! Chevrolet Equinox SS
I know its no slouch but it has too much baggage. Now the XL-7 has our 3.6 standard and we're stuck with the dated (that's what all the experts say) 3.4. As with too many GM products you have to move to to top model to get the decent engine. Keep the 3.4 in the base truck so it can compete with the comps 4cyl models like you say but at least make the 3.6 standard on the LT perhaps.

Oldest person you know of to buy a new car
He won't drive at night and he's having someone drive it down to Florida for him so at least I-87 and I-95 will be a little safer.

SPY SHOTS! Chevrolet Equinox SS
Only problem is that they need a better motor in the regular versions and not just in the top of the line model that will probably account for less than 10% of all sales which will leave the Nox of a lot of peoples shopping list.

I burned the soup
My beautiful wife spent the afternoon working on one of her home made soups and at 4:00 she had to go out to pick up some things so she turned the soup off because she didn't want it to burn, said she'd be back in an hour. Stupid me decides he's hungry and can't wait so I decide to turn the soup back on but then I come back to cheers and gears and forget to check on the soup. Next thing you know the front door opens around 5:15 and she asks what's burning? I am such an ass.

Oldest person you know of to buy a new car
About a month ago I was browsing the local Pontiac-Buick lot on a Sunday afternoon and I bump into my cousin's girlfriend's mother and her father who is 93. I had met them before at family events. I knew from talking to him before that he liked cars and that he had leased a 2002 Buick Century and when the lease was up in May he was supposed to give the car back and not get another one. It turns out the old guy couldn't go without wheels so he was back on the lot looking for a deal on an 06 and asked me if I would help him look around at different dealers to find him the color / model he liked. He wanted something different from the Century/ Lacrosse and decided on a G6. Long story short a week later him and I on in the salesmens office and he's pulling out in a new G6. Personally I don't think he should even be on the road but I don't make the rules. Hard to beleive this man was born the year after the titanic sank and his first car was a 1938 Ford coupe. Any other classic stories from sales/dealer people out there?

My company takes its Wang out in Boston
Reminds of the movie Peggy Sue gets Married from around 88-89 when the girl asks the guy if she can see "it" and he says " You mean my Wang''?

BIRTH ORDER - Where do you fall in?
I am the youngest of 7 boys, no girls, same parents. I came late by accident my parents were 42 when I was born. Only one of my brothers is an A-hole but that is because of his wife. He's chosen her over the rest of his family and has made himself the black sheep of the family, I call it pussy whipped. According to some medical study I saw on 6o minutes the more male births your mother has the higher the probabilty will be of the latter ones being gay but it didn't affect me I'm still straight as an arrow. It was fun having older brothers that are 8-18 years older than me. At one time in the 80's our driveway included 2 Cutlasses, a Camaro, Firebird, Grand Prix and a Dodge Coronet. That's how I became the GM guy.

My Last Post on C&G
Don't go. I wanted to talk to you about Flint and GMI.

To General Motors
Priceless post Razoredge. I wouldn't say Flint LOOKS any worse than it did 15 years ago but in reality is probably is worse off. Over 30% live in poverty. One of the most dangerous cities in the country. They (the gov't) put in some unistone sidewalks, some american flags, painted here and there, you know the old try to make people feel it ain't all bad when it really is crap. I was there on a beautiful August Sunday afternoon driving around the downtown area and I think I saw maybe 20 people on the streets.

When did you go to GMI? I'd have to agree. From the moment I first saw Roger and Me I wanted to see Flint for myself.

To General Motors
I agree. That's the problem with the "New" economy. Not everyone is going to be able to get a college degree and make the big bucks. When all these decent paying manufacturing type jobs disappear the people left behind will be left with nothing but Wal-Mart. Unlike San Deigo, Flint is in the middle of nowhere so it would be tough to atract investment there. Plus what will happen over the next 10-20 years when all those GM retirees that are there die off. They're the only ones with any money in the city.

The best your going to get is what you have now, 2 engine plants and some GM office jobs in the city. Don't they build the Siverado HD in Flint too?

NICKNAMES
What's your connection to Montreal? I see your talking a lot about it recently. Nick names I've been called are Stevo, Stevie Wonder (not that I look like him) Stevester and the GM guy. I love giving other people nicknames. My co worker and I have a nickname for just about eveybody who comes into the shop, it makes for some good fun.

[/img] This is just up from where the sign about the sit down strike was so I think there was once a plant here the last time I was in Flint (about 10 years ago) and now its all been demolished and GM has built this new building.
