New Camry LE (run-of-the-mill version) revealed
Considering design is subjective and materials...well breaking off a piece of the interior easily with your hand wouldn't exactly back up that claim. The LCD argument is stupid too. At least Toyota has moved on from the pea green backlit display which looked utterly horrible but the shower clock radio display they use now isn't much better. The ones GM uses (and most other manufacturers for that matter including Lexus) are easier to read night and day and look vastly more upscale.

GM to UAW: Deal or No Deal?
I don't see your logic. Retire 3 years early and only make 43K versus making 50K working full time for the next 3 years. If you retire early you can get a part time job to make up the missing 7K per year and work less than you would if would stay full-time. By not retiring...you are really only working more for the same amount of money. Either way you cut it, the UAW is getting a sweetheart deal. Sure I can see why they would be apprehensive about benefits getting slashed next year but they might as well expect it.

I'm so pissed!
Comcast internet is a total ripoff. It doesn't help that they are usually the only cable internet operator in any given market. DSL is slower but better cost/benefit wise.

GM to UAW: Deal or No Deal?
They will have to pay all of the irregardless save for the "negotiators" fee which is probably something the people that are trying to "fight" for them are ripping them off for. Or take the money, retire early and find a part time job to work 20 hours a week to make up the 7K difference. Same money, less work.

INCENTIVES
Toyota dealers use alot of Factory to Dealer incentives....stuff that dealers can use to "seal the deal" but aren't widely advertised like domestics.

Next-gen Nissan Altima to bow at New York show
Wow...it uh...looks the same. Japanese Vanilla with a little generic spice added. The current one is quite dated...at least to me....and the current ones problems are much more than a crappy interior. The powertrain (specifically the 4 cyl auto) is utter crap. The V6 is pretty good though.

True It just seems stupid to criticize a full-size SUV for poor gas mileage.

That's exactly what I'm saying. It will slowly make college not an option for people. It's rising well above the inflation rate. Even if you financed 4 years today at a university at say 15K a year...that's 60K. Over 20 years thats about 300 bucks a month...not exactly an inviting extra payment for people struggling to get out on their own. Hell..that's more than I pay for my car.

Yes true...the university I went to cost about 11K a year when I went. Now its over 13K and that was only 3 years ago. It's rising about 7-8% a year...in a decade it could cost as much as the private schools of today. Throw in the fact that Dubya raised the interest rate for student loans to make it more expensive (to pay for his little wars) and it becomes even worse.

The market determines the pay. Sure more pay for teachers would be nice...but would the taxpayers want to pay extra...usually not. Same thing applies for execs...if Company A didn't pay them enough and Company B offered them the same job for more pay they would most likely take it. There really is no loyalty in business. The ridiculous exec pay is basically the result of the price competition. Not that I agree with it and I do support heavy taxation...but it is what it is.

Basically. You don't learn anything different at a private school than a public school...its just a snob thing. Public universities aren't exactly getting cheap though.

Better than the 11 MPG they got in their LX470...and more powerful to boot.

Did you know that the STS V8 (you know...the GS's real competitor) costs 10K less? I mean 10K is going to buy you a lot of fuel. It's even funnier because the STS is a bigger car with more cabin and trunk room...and the Lexus is barely faster.

Can't speak for the GTO and CTSV but numerous mags have gotten GM's time for the Z06. C&D got a 3.6 for it for example.

Not really. Toyota uses gas mileage as its marketing tool...not how clean it is. Let Toyota advertise it just runs cleaner with no increase in mileage and see how many people line up to buy one. Not a whole lot I bet.

Toyota Yaris: Why is toyota so stupid?
Sat in one at the Chicago auto show. Interior was cheap...its a sea of cheap black plastic. Other than the MPG or a toyota fetish I don't see any reason to pick this over a Fit or Aveo...let alone a low end Cobalt, Corolla, Civic, etc.

Toyota Yaris: Why is toyota so stupid?
The interiors of the new Toyotas are not only not class-leading...they are barely midpack. That includes the new Camry, FJ and this ugly thing. I almost broke the door handle off at the auto show it was so damn cheap. I guess since they are Toyota they can get away with cheap crap.
