  1. Good stuff. In regards to cleanliness, what cars on the road today are at near-zero emissions? It'd be good to have a laundry list for the purposes of this thread.
  2. Part of this cleanliness I'm guessing came from the change in diesel fuels this year.

Nature will take its course. If population is the problem, then lots of people are going to die until population is no longer a problem.Camino is right about the factories being the worse polluters. I would also like to contend, however, that volcano eruptions release more greenhouse gases than gasoline combustion. On the subject of deforestation, the schools have been preaching to me since grade school to "save the rainforest". How do you suppose I do that? They never told me that part.
  4. Well every month is Toyota's best-ever. If GM wants to stay #1, then they need to make sales gains. More specifically, even if they break even in sales, they're going to be beat. It's really only a matter of time.

Does that Colorado have a manual? I hear Cort's sister is looking for a truck like that.
  6. In an age of growing Internet media (and heavily biased print media, not that this has anything to do with the topic), it may be in the best interests of the manufacturers to revise the embargo system.
  7. The truth behind the incentive: Customer buys V6 Charger, goes home. Two days later a crate is delivered to his house containing the free HEMI.
  8. Every Toyota sales report starts off with blah blah blah best-ever. Lexus is selling vast amounts of IS's and ES's for its volume. GS is becoming a niche player, being outsold by the larger, more expensive LS. The Land Cruiser and LX are still dropping in numbers... For that matter, total Lexus SUV sales are down this year (and month). On the strength of the unknown, Corolla is doing better this year than last year. Scion sales are down this month (especially the xB, thank God), but up for the year (doh).
  9. It could possibly also be used as part of an ad campaign. As in, "Another vehicle in the Dodge Hemisphear". But that would be silly.
  10. Sure is purdy. Interesting interior details: - What appears to be the ignition switch has what looks like a Nuclear/Radioactive symbol. Unless that's for the fan. - The "2" in the center of the tachometer appears to be a static LED, rather than a changing number. - Vintage style GM seat belt buckles. - The Radio / HVAC controls seem counterintuitive to operate.
  11. "It is also able to slow and then stop a vehicle that is already moving, by means of sensors that notice unusual steering patterns and a camera that notes whether the driver's pupils are focused." This thing would pull me over if I were sober.
  12. I want to like it. I really do. But honestly, I couldn't see myself driving a red X down the street. (Looks like Autoweek lost/took down the pics.)
  13. It's not a completely original idea (some 6 years ago now, I had wanted to put a table in my dad's 72 Chevy Van), but I think this may be the first production stab at it.
  14. And I completely missed it. In fact, this is the first I've been able to confirm it (although I've seen R.I.P. text floating around, I didn't make the connection / was in denial).
  15. They could have done so much worse. But again with the chrome strip above the license plate...
  16. This is one of the dumbest opening paragraphs I've ever read.
  17. I mostly agree, but this sort of number bending has some precedence I believe. For instance, how did General Motors list GEO sales numbers?
  18. Two comments: 1. They fail to actually give fuel economy numbers for this thing, which is something I've wanted to know for a long time. Size and fuel efficiency are this car's only true saving graces, and if its fuel numbers aren't substantial, then it only has size in its favor. In which case, it has to compete with the MINI. 2. Cars of this size are ideal for city commute. Anyone who doesn't understand the appeal of this over public transportation has never had to stand on a bus or subway car with 60+ other people.
  19. Headlights remind me of a blend of Mercedes CLS and Chrysler Sebring.
  20. Absolute Deal-breakers, General: - Manufactured by Toyota Motor Corp - Chinese manufactured -- It's bad enough that virtually everything else on the market is made in China. Significant turn-offs, General: - Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Hyundai manufactured - Can't get to 60mph in less than 10 secs - Bland or unattractive styling Significant turn-offs, individual car: - Tactile flaws -- missing, loose buttons, noticeable wear and tear (side note: The paint is peeling off the radio buttons and interior door pulls in my Cobalt after only a year! ) - Vehicle damage - More than 150,000 miles on the odometer
  21. My new year's resolution is to eat more ham.
  22. Don't forget that an inch can make a huge difference in comfort levels.
  23. The press release says "wheels-at-the-corner" at least four times that I've counted. I like that the car has Stabilitrak standard on the LT and LTZ. I'd take that over Nav any day.
  24. The rear looks excellent head-on, but weird and flat from other angles. Overall it's a good looking car. I'd rate it excellent in appearance if not for the strange tail bringing it down a couple notches.
  25. Who photoshopped a Saab Aero X?
