  1. Oh yeah, I don't think a full EV Maverick will be here anytime "soon", just saying that it may be in the pipeline.
  2. This isn't a stop-gap at all. This is just the same thing they've done for 100 years, 100% ICE. This appears to be a pretty awesome product, but it isn't a stop-gap-anything. It's just another truck.
  3. While ICEs are more complex, the general public seems to see EVs as more complex, just because they're a newer technology and drastically different. At least the handful of people I've talked to that don't follow the automotive world seem to think they're more complex vehicles and are afraid of the technology being too new still to consider. General public tends to be really stupid. ?
  4. I believe it's rumored to possibly get the Lighting treatment. I think they patented the names Maverick Lightning and Ranger Lightning.
  5. I am a little surprised they didn't electrify this in any way. It would have been a great way to corner the 30mpg capable truck market. I know the Maverick can achieve that but, this obviously can do more work and 30mpg would probably cut into Maverick sales, assuming it wasn't 50k.
  6. This looks SOOOOOO much better than the outgoing model! Also, the 2.7 should have been in this the second the Silverado got it. I think any of those output levels will suffice no problem here.
  7. I do have push button start and there most certainly is an accessory mode. Just hit the start button without pressing on the brake pedal. I have my own additional subwoofer installed as OEM ones are weeeeak (10" JL Audio W6v3). My wife and I have absolutely waited in my car with just accessories on for longer than 10 minutes without the battery dying. It will auto shut off at 10 minutes but I just hit the start button again w/o pressing the brake pedal to turn accessories back on.
  8. They're not bad batteries, especially if you're just looking to get the vehicle running to sell, like in your situation. If it were my personally vehicle, I'd just step up to one of the 2-4 year warranty ones. those also have more cold cranking amps, would would benefit me in the winter when its zero degrees F.
  9. I have never had electrical things not respond because I don't have a $1000 battery. Where does one even recycle a lithium ion car battery? If it finally goes bad, do I have to mail it to where I bought it and wait for a return? Seems more inconvenient than it's worth.
  10. A lead-acid battery is far from $300 for my MKC. I can get a Motorcraft battery for under $200 w/ a three year warranty or an EverStart from Walmart with a four-year warranty for $180. There is no benefit to 99.9% of owners of a $300 battery over a $180 battery. I'll give racers a break as they're in it for the weight savings.
  11. $600-1000 for a lithium car battery? That's certainly a hard pass.
  12. This sounds like the beginning of a heist movie. Hahaha
  13. The shape isn't new, it's just an ugly shape.
  14. I know neither of these are in the same league as a 300k luxury barge but their profiles are sooooo much better, imo. Top: Lucid Aid Bottom: Tesla Model S
  15. I much prefer a station wagon OR a sedan. Please don't blend them.
  16. "awful" is too strong of a word for this but I think the front 3/4 looks fantastic but I'm not a fan of the rear 1/4. I just don't dig the big cruiser vibe (and intention) with a coupe-like rear end. The same body shape of a Panamera, which I've always thought was just "bulky" looking, because it was a coupe-like shape but stretched into a sedan.
  17. Good eye on when it was written. It's basically irrelevant at this point. I'm honestly not exactly sure why it was shared.
  18. Well yeah, I was just commenting on the article's list. The first two things on the list (numbers 34 & 35) are "taking a walk" and "hiking". GTFO of here with those two. If anything, people NEED to get out more and have active/healthy bodies. That list basically says not to leave home.
  19. I 100% agree. They should have because the EV is replacing the ICE one anyway. I think the non-SS one looks really good with a MUCH cleaner front end. I agree that the EV one looks better and I think a lot of that is the drastically changed proportions with the extra long wheelbase.
  20. "Don't go anywhere."
  21. Not wrong here. While completely different vehicles, there's no denying they're "the same". They look a generation apart (which they are). One old, one new.
  22. I doubt that's even necessary as I'd wager most states already have laws against touching/removing/effecting the vehicle's emissions systems. I know I've read IL law that states you cannot remove or modify emissions systems or exhaust systems. The stuff just isn't enforced.
  23. That was back in 2019. I wonder how many there are now. I'm yet to see one but, I also haven't been looking for them, so there's that.
  24. I'd assume another 2-3 years for the ICE Blazer.
  25. We also don't have gas stations in our garages so it's not exactly a perfect comparison. I believe I've seen pictures of Shell stations with chargers but I'm not sure if that's in the US or elsewhere.
