I don't want Buick to "compete" with Lexus. I want Buick to kick the crap out of Lexus. Call me biased, but I'm sick of seeing my hometown brand keep getting its ass handed to it by some Japanese upstart.
  2. ... 4 days before my parents got married...? That's sort of weird to know...
  3. "Personally, I'd like to do this in Detroit," Good, go for it! I can't think of a better place that needs the company, or a better place that could help the company. There's more relevent talent they need than they know what to do with in SE Michigan.
  4. This is how they've been spending our money??
  5. Um...is it because GM is still way too arrogant and doesn't take advice?
  6. I'm averaging about 21-24 mpg mixed driving..

Man oh man, I would hate to be seen in one of those things. I don't even like standing near Scions, lest someone mistake me for the owner. There's not many Scions where I live, but whenever I see one I'm always forced to wonder if the driver is brain-damaged for thinking it a worthy purchase.

After Appetite, GNR became kind of hit and miss...usually miss.
  9. 415% increase in Lambda sales? I knew they were selling well, but I thought the reason I've been seeing so many is because I live in an area where damn near EVERYONE buys GM. They've almost become a road staple over here.
  10. “While reductions in head count are always difficult for a company, we know these actions are critical to our ability to deliver unprecedented value to our customers now and in the future,” Yeah, right. Putting 10% of your workforce out on their asses is probably just so damn difficult for you isn't it? I'm probably getting a Mac for my next computer anyway. I've got a Dell right now and the thing has been just a lump of disappointing mediocrity.

Chinese Democracy is going to bite the big one. GNR hasn't done anything good since Appetite for Destruction.
  12. Weird coincidence...my cousin just recently traded in a Honda for a Mustang GT too. That car is bad ass.

Velite, Riviera, Electra...they're all pretty snazzy names that ooze class.
  14. Saturn: Give me a full-size car with a big engine and we'll talk. In no way are their new products bad, and I enjoy seeing them on the roads...but they have yet to capture me 100%.
  15. Snap, son. I've been waiting for the day where the media would pick on Toyota for a change...and what a day it is!

I agree. While there's nothing wrong with Velite, the Riviera name is well known and has a rich heritage.

I was really big into heavy metal about 3 or 4 years ago when I was in high school, but since then my music tastes have expanded a bit. I still listen to heavy stuff, but I'm finding myself increasingly leaning towards classic rock and folk or some kind of funk nowadays. Strangely enough, music slightly influences what kind of cars I'll buy...I put all cars I test drive through the Foghat Test. If it feels right to be listening to "Slow Ride" while I'm cruising along with the windows down...well, then I'll love the car to death.
  18. Its amazing, yes, but whenever I hear anything about some kind of advanced artificial intelligence I always hear the Terminator theme song in my head.

Toyota and Honda will not fall like the Big Three did, if they do at all. They're nowhere near as arrogant, complacent or inefficienct as Detroit was. I'm guessing the tables won't even begin to turn from imports to domestics for at least another 3-5 years unless GM, Ford and Chrysler make some huge and drastic changes to their products.
  20. Well Lutz is sure blowing his load all over this thing.
  21. Beige and silver. Mainly because they remind me of old folks driving Buicks or Lincolns, and living in Flint, there are a hell of a lot of old folks driving beige and silver Buicks.

"Large rear-wheel drive sedan". So are we thinking this is going to be built at Oshawa with the rest of the Zetas? Or is the production capacity going to be revved up too much?
  23. About a year ago, when I still had my beat-up Oldsmobile, I used to paruse used car lots to see what kind of cars exactly were in my price range. Well, my Oldsmobile was rusty, had a broken headlight, a huge goddamn dent on the driver's side from when it was t-boned by a truck and had a symphony of squeaks and rattles to it...needless to say, whenever I got out of the car at a dealership, salespeople would practically run out and greet me.
  24. I'm not going to start jumping all over GM for this yet. We don't know if it'll be a disappointment or a class leader like the other Lambdas. What I will say is this: Traverse? Come on. There must've been better names you could've gotten ahold of.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I can't wait for Toyota's jerkoff fans to start trying to spin this one. The "stellar quality" argument is really starting to feel outdated now.
