Congrats on the new ride, BV. Chris

What about Amtrak?
I agree with Oldsmoboi, I just love Amtrak. I would gladly pay a two dollar a gallon tax on gas just to have a decent rail system...seriously... Chris

JUNKYARDS
The best yard around here is just west of Mount Sterling, Ohio on route 56 headed west, go about 4 miles or so west of town towards I-71. Tons of vintage stuff but they don't crush much of anything... The other local yard that had tons of old cars crushed EVERYTHING about a year and a half ago. Money talks, and when you can crush cars and send them to China for cash for steel... Sadly, Sixty eight, you may yet own that 61 caddy...in the form of a Toaster from Wall-Mart! Chris

Tempting
On some collector cars, yes...but I was at a Car show this AM and a woman there turned down 90K for a 67 Camaro SS-350 ragtop... Some of the less desireables are going down, but the primo p-ieces are still bringing big bucks... Chris

The Oil Addiction Fallacy
Having lived in Atlanta and Chicago, I can tell you that we need to reduce congestion. We've got twice the population of the sixties and we seem to all travel about 4 times as far. Chris

Yes it is, but I'd still rather have it on the floor. Chris

Our Astro took a nasty 30 m.p.h. hit in the ass end from a Semi...that pushed it through a busy intersection and about 40 feet beyond... My wife drove it to work after the accident. When it went in to get fixed, the body shop guy said that there was no frame damage. Chris

Reason #421,572 why I hate TOYOTA
...easy on us Miata fan's... Actually one of the Local SCCA guys is selling off his cars. In addition to his Miata he is selling, he is getting rid of a really nice 63 Cadillac. I was going to go look at both but I think he's got them both sold. At the very least I could haul the Miata around in the trunk of the caddy... Chris

Last 4-Door Hardtop?
Those GM 76's were good looking cars for there Era...however, the 4 door hardtops of the sixties were just great! Chris

One of my friends has a G35, the G35/G37 are growing on me also... Chris

Reason #421,572 why I hate TOYOTA
I've vented and pissed here myself. The point I am trying to make is that we should be untimately really proud of the current GM lineup and be Positive about that... I own both Toyota and GM products...there are Zero Current production Toyota products I like, and about 12 current GM products I like... But please, rant all you want, I am enjoying it... Chris

Malibu Report: 6 months after launch
Quit being such a damned reality addict...(Just kidding, but it saddens me to know that you are right.) Chris

So you want you some MPG, eh?
Cool old Chevy/GMC truck in Primer and GT4/SCCA 510 Datsun behind that car. My friend Sue Rupp raced a Pink 510 like that in the local SCCA races... Chris

My local B-P-G dealer is closing May 30
Considering that you damned Californians buy something like 5% domestic cars, it's no wonder. It's a sad day in Mudville when there are more American cars in Havanna, Cuba than in San Fransisco, Cali... Chris

My local B-P-G dealer is closing May 30
Actually my "local" nearest Dodge dealership (Whiteside Dodge in Mt. Sterling, Ohio) is probably the best car dealership on the planet. Were they to sell Mazda, GM, MINI, Honda or something I would by all of my future cars from them. As it is I'll enjoy a free cup of coffee when I drop by to bull$h! with a few of the salespeople. Reason #421,572 why I hate TOYOTA
...but passion should be positive...we should talk about what a GOOD car the volt is rather than bash the Prius. enzl is right, without positive, thoughtful forward momentum both the forum and GM are in trouble... Chris

...no actually a much LESS rational group of people is going to be voting for our new political leadership in November. Sleep better yet? Chris

And why even thip the Bannana? You can buy a decent Astro for a grand or so for sure if you look... Chris

Astro might not be a bad idea, mine loaded down is getting 17-18 mpg, and empty on the highway I get 21 If I don't speed. And while Minivans are practical I was actually very, very happy when my wife totaled our Voyager after a short period of ownership. They can string both of us up on your front lawn before either of us buys another Chrysler or other minivan.. Chris

Hopefully the price of gas means we get some real mass transit in this nation... Glad to see you ride the bus. If I could I would. Chris
