I also always loved this shot of the C5. I still have the insert of this picture they put in Motor Trend when they first came out. Not too keen on it's sequel though. Maybe it's just the crappy lighting:

The Bitch, Moan and Whine thread...
Okay. So I'm blind as a bat without glasses or contacts, so as a result, i always leave my bathroom light on so I can find it without having to put my glasses on (yeah, I'm that blind). Well, sometime in the night, it had burnt out, and I was fumbling around the house looking for a different light switch, only to go too far, trip over my coffee table (if you could call it that, it's a cheap flimsy deal I got at Target) and smash it to bits. One of the support legs that held the table up somehow pops me in the nose. It's still sore, and pretty red. Yeah, I'm gonna have fun explaining this to everybody who sees me at work.

You know you grew up in the 90s when...
Big Wheels were a craze of the '70s, when many manufacturers made competing products, due to weak copyrights. '90s music is fantastic compared to everything made after 2000. But it was terribly depressing compared to the '60s, '70s and '80s. Grunge was awful, and the copycats and derivatives were worse. 60's and 70's I'd agree with, the music was fantastic (but then again I didn't grow up in the 60's and 70's, so my experience with them feels secondhand) but the 80's not so much. I know there are quite a few notable exceptions (Metallica, Pantera, Judas Priest, et al) but the era was still dominated by stuff like A Flock of Seagulls and A-ha and stuff like that. And I like Grunge and 90's Punk. that's what I grew up on.

yeah I had a big wheel in the 80's. by the 90's I was too big for 'em, and already knew how to ride a bike anyway. And I keep thinking about how good 90's music was. especially if you listen to anything on the radio that's made now adays. is it just me or does todays music have no soul? i think it just drones; it's not even really music anymore.

Car pics thread...
The car was named more for the fighter plane than the horse...the horse imagery was just more marketable. and I always liked this one: Another car that owes its name to WWII.

- It's coming!
supposedly this La Nina thing is going to make this year mild and dry. let's hope.- So I need advice, the curse hits...twice....
<--So. Californian. Our winter consists of rain, fog, and more rain. I have driven my Camaro through snow though, the first time was in the mountains near [i can't remember if it was Big Bear or Mammoth Mountain] when I was 18--which is where the nearly spinning off the side of a mountain came from; and then a few more times on road trips going through Flagstaff, Oklahoma City, and north central New Mexico. On the road trips, I had to learn how to control the car on the fly out of necessity, as I wasn't expecting snow (It also taught me to check weather reports before I head out on a road trip). But those last three times, I was driving arguably better than the locals, because they were just zipping around like it was dry ground, and I saw several accidents and ditched cars.- So I need advice, the curse hits...twice....
+1 And with AWD traction, he should be able to keep his butt out of various slings that might sneak up on him.- So I need advice, the curse hits...twice....
Just tell him that things get away from you sometimes, and bad luck doesn't have a set frequency. sometimes, it can just happen one after the other. and we all have accidents. I've spun out on the side of an icy mountain road; nearly crapped my pants thinking that I was going off the side, but all that ended up happening was needing new bumpers. I've also curbed my car in a rain storm; I was probably only going less than 35mph too, but it was still enough to hydroplane. I had to replace the entire front-right suspension. I'm still a pretty decent driver. but sometimes, even the best driver gets owned by the laws of physics, or even the law of Murphy. In other words, $h! Happens.- Automotive paint schemes you like...
whoa. it's probably about as much as a new Challenger SRT8 now if it's still in good condition. ah, what could have been. Anyway, the Plymouth version of that color was called "InViolet Metallic", but a rose by any other name... hmm.. I can imagine what that car must've looked like. sounds like a peach. er...plum, rather. something like this, perhaps?- Automotive paint schemes you like...
