Well, because of me, I suppose we are. Although it used to be all American, with my new car (and I mean new too- a 2008) it's become Ameri-Deutsche. New GM's with the parents, and a new Volkswagen Golf (Rabbit) 3-Door for me!

Beautiful! Such a good looking and un-boring midsize sedan. Citroen's compact, the C4, is tres cool as well.
  3. I find the Journey to be surprisingly attractive in light of Chrysler's recent design efforts, but I really don't care for the interior styling but if the materials are better than the Avenger's (Sebring's are slightly better than its sibling) then it ought to sell well.
  4. This thing is awful looking. *Beat the dead horse*
  5. Wow! Aside from the sheepish rear end, this does look excellent, and the interior looks great too. I inlcude myself among those thankful that this isn't a simp-le badge job of the other Lamba "giant wagons".

Honda's Acura division seemed to have its best style car-wise With the current TL and TSX. It surprised me when the Honda Legend (Acura RL) wasn't sharper and more attractive. With the new MDX, updated RL, and no longer existent RSX, the appeal and semi-Italinate sheet metal that the TSX and TL had seem to be going by the wayside for me is greatly diminished. In my humble opinion, they might as well shut Acura down, or just integrate it back into Honda as more "premium Hondas" such as some Infiniti models with Nissan in Japan, and Lexus with Toyota.
  7. Agreed that the exteriors need something as badly if not worse (especially the Sebring) than the interiors. Project D? Well, I guess if you're working on a major Disaster, then sure, it needs a name to have it fixed!

Well, I managed to plaster two deer the other night on my way to pick up my girlfriend (plans ruined obviously) and since my car is 11 years old with like, 127,000 miles, my insurance company totalled it, but it's still driveable and I haven't quite decied whether to buy it back or abandon it and hope I could get something else quick or what. Then, a week after hitting those deer, I was on my way to work driving at like 4:30 am and hit another one going 55, but ironically, this deer didn't cause any damage. P.S. All deer listed (3) were dead. I have nicknamed my car "The Slayer". Got stuck in my drive during the big snow storm and couldn't go to work. My road wasn't even plowed until like after 4pm. Anyway, it'll be a while before I am on again. Take care everyone.

    A late `80's/Early `90's Buick Century.
  10. Damn. If there is any truth in this, Chrysler is dead, and I am devoted to rooting for GM. I highly doubt anything so stupid would happen, but you never know. When Iacocca left and Lutz left, pretty much everything that made Chrysler great left.

Oh, I'm not technically a member of "Plymouth Faithful" but I just found it disappointing that Chrysler was pressed to kill the brand when cars like the Pronto Spyder showed that much could be done.

    Oh yeah!

Chrysler needs to dust off some of these fabulous concepts and put them into production. Agreed with the statement that cars like the Chronos, Phaeton, and Atlantic would have made Chrysler a true luxury automaker.

I don't think that Chrysler ought to cut the Sebring so much as completely make it over. Without a decent midsize entry somewhere, Chrysler might as well shut down.
  15. Wow! The SRT version of the Caliber looks hot AND compact. For some reason to me the other models just seem ungainly from all angles, but this actually looks good.
  16. Well, the Astra has been outselling the Mk. V Golf (Rabbit to us North Americans) recently, and is a solid class entry. For the OPC/VXR versions, Top Gear says it will worry any hot hatch in every area. The Astra is a winner, it's just unfortunate that we get neither the super-frugal diesels nor the fast Turbo 4's. However, that's for the next cycle. And, with the next generation, I expect the sedan, TwinTop, and yes, even the wagon to be available because isn't the Aura supposed to be available as a wagon in NG (EpsII)?

    UAW You're In Trouble!!!!

lol. Thanks, but I do agree with you. It makes so much sense. Great minds think alike!

Well, the faux tortoise shell trim looks much classier, the flowing console more premium, and larger NAV screen are all better on the current model than the update. Chrysler... you made it worse... at least for now. Agreed on much more needs to be done, and as stated before by myself and others, Chrysler's use of padded materials seemed much more extensive pre-Daimler than post-Daimler, so I expect Chrysler to return to this at some point, and without the Germans involved and sucking cash out of an "inferior American car company" that actually kept the whole damn corporation afloat a couple times, I am sure Chrysler will want to move upmarket more than they are currently at.

The newly reformed taillamps do wonders for this car's appearance. At least, from the rearview. They didn't modify the front enough to really make a statement regarding a "refresh" in comparison to the Cadillac STS's refresh. Overall, a useful improvement, but still not excting from a design standpoint, and cars in this class need to stand out. Even though I don't care for Toyota Motor Corp. in general, I do prefer the Lexus GS cars versus Infiniti's M's.
  21. Not fair. The Audi unintended acceleration fiasco was a farce. It nearly destroyed Audi in the U.S. market.
  22. I do not feel that the Altima resembles the Monte Carlo in any way, shape, or form. The Monte has an unappealing droopy rear to my eyes. However, overall of the Accord Coupe vs Altima Coupe, the Altima has things sewn up from the exterior viewpoint, but the Accord's interior buts the Altima to bed without supper. I'm sure the Accord is more refined overall, plus it has the nifty double wishbone front suspension versus struts.
  23. Ah, I just love the Viper. It's so honest.

This is one of the last things that needs to happen. Chrysler needs to fix itself as a company first, and then of course simultaneously fix it's brands. Chrysler to move upmarket, Dodge to gain more proper models and be an attractive mainstream marque (especially now with Plymouth gone) and Jeep to get rid of the abominations, and also, move upmarket a bit itself. The Jeep name is legendary and could well compete with Land Rover on some levels. *See Above... I Agree*
  25. Certain breed? I don't think anyone in Germany cares to recognize that there is a world at all outside of Germany! And, regarding the X6, I don't think so. It's just a dramatically styled SUV cum Crossover that loses more utility than it gains in style. Disgusting BMW.
