Aura/Insignia Spied
Looks like the same car to me...and I think it looks good. It interests me more than the Malibu, and the interior looks like it will be great.

High hopes for Chicago but,...
If anything, the "appliancefication" of cars happened years ago and is now slowly being reversed. The 80s and 90s gave us some of the blandest, uninspired crap the automotive industry has seen. Look at GM's mainstream cars of the past 20 years, and then what it produces now (or will in the near future) for proof of this.

New car is coming...'08 Malibu
Nice color combo, and I really like those wheels. Congrats. I've still yet to see one on the road. I'll have to head over to a dealer and check one out.

2009 Camaro Colors
It's a mule that GM chose to release uncovered pictures of. If they don't plan on offering white, they should have released a picture of a different color Camaro, which we know exist. Anything else doesn't make sense. Those that laid eyes on this and said "Wow, that's nice, make mine white" are in for a dissapointment if the car won't come in white. I'll give GM the benefit of the doubt and assume they have more common sense than that.

2009 Camaro Colors
I find it hard to believe that GM would release a teaser painted a color that won't be available.

2009 Camaro Colors
Uhhh, the production spec Camaro in the picture released by GM is white. Where's that on the list?

GM @ NAIAS '08: Hummer HX Concept
Bimmer325 replied to Chris_Doane's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)The way the Wrangler Unlimited sells in relation to the standard two-door, I sure hope they ruin it with an extra set of doors.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Saab 9-4x BioPower Concept
Bimmer325 replied to bostonspider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)To each their own, I guess. I think the Provoq is pretty avant-garde in terms of styling. In my eyes, it picks up right where the CTS left off. Its lines are modern, razor-sharp, and uniquely Cadillac (especially the rear). There's some VUE in its proportions, but as a whole I think it's a very cohesive design. And I doubt the average consumer will see the resemblance like we do. In fact, the profile shot of the Provoq really doesn't resemble that of the VUE, even to me. Judging by these pictures (which, admittedly, aren't high-quality enough to go on), this isn't nearly as modern IMO. There's nothing new or exciting about it. The Provoq's styling doesn't point Cadillac in a new direction because it doesn't have to. Cadillac's design language is already where it needs to be. I'm afraid Saab needs something much more drastic than this in order for it to gain a following. I expected something along the lines of the Aero X, which I don't see here. Again, I just feel like this could have been in their lineup years ago. Hopefully larger, more-detailed images will change my mind.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Saab 9-4x BioPower Concept
Bimmer325 replied to bostonspider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Definitely not a fan of this. I expected something innovative, sheetmetal that would advance Saab's design language. This looks like it could have been in their lineup for a couple of years already.

Chrysler working on emergency overhaul of Avenger & Sebring interiors
Something tells me this won't be as drastic as Chrysler wants us to think it will be. I've lost a lot of faith in them over the past couple of years.

A storm's a brewin.....
Started out as freezing rain, went over to sleet, which then mixed with snow...before changing first back to sleet and freezing rain and finally plain rain this morning. 2-4" of snow/sleet, topped with a sloppy layer of slush...which will probably all freeze again later tonight. Messy. Forecasts called for rain and wind with little accumulation.

That could belong to any carmaker. I suppose the grille will make it a Buick.

The HyundaiLexusW Genesis
It'll sell as long as it undercuts cars from established luxury brands in price (and I'm sure it will). I, for one, give Hyundai credit for getting rear-drive into their lineup before any other mainstream Asian marque and 2/3 of the big three. Styling is derivative, but to say it's anywhere near as bad as what the Chinese are doing is an exaggeration.

Winter Weather Car Spotting
I saw an Acura RSX spin out and hit the guardrail head-on during a heavier burst of snow yesterday afternoon. So much for front-drive traction.
