  1. Awesome. The entire Opel lineup open to Saturn?! Let's see those OPC Corsas, Astras, and the diesel engines too! I am looking forward to this. Plug in hybrids? Sounds neat.
  2. Puke after gagging me with a spoon. I dont' care if it is principally for the technology, there is such a thing as overkill.
  3. The new Town&Country's interior as a design that takes a bit of getting used to, but overall, I like the way it looks. Better than the Caravan, but Chrysler's vans are the best in the industry. Period.
  4. Damn it. It would serve them right if they were banned to their own country and never allowed out for their copies. SHAME!
  5. I don't like the wheels or taillamps. The rest I don't mind.
  6. Oh God Yes. The 159 has got to be one of the hottest "midsize" (as in, just size; not class) cars E-V-E-R. Of course, I'd prefer the Brera because it has only two doors!
  7. Lol. Survive frostbite, get a Saturn!
  8. And, since it's on MTV, all of the kids that want the latest and greatest will just have to have one. Hooray for demand!
  9. At any rate, I like the Altima coupe. It's better looking than the Monte, Solara, Accord, or whatever else is out there in the FWD midsize/large coupe market.
  10. Acknowledged. I'm just someone that doesn't feel as though I should be taking the responsibility of other people. It's how silly laws get made up. I don't mind auto lamps, just give me manual override. Daytime lamps? Bah. If one can't see a freaking hulk of metal, plastic, electronics, leather, cloth, and flammables without lamps on in broad daylight, why then, I just don't know... Maybe I dislike fully automated lamps with no control because I HATE morons?
  11. True in that regard, as VW has some issues against it that the others do too such as the strength of the Euro versus the Dollar, but VW's labour unions seem to come up quite often as well. It's also why some models should be assembled in North America instead of imported, but with identical specifications. The Aura is an example as a step in the right direction, but I hope that the next generation Vectra will be assembled in the U.S. exactly identical to the German Opel version. However, the VW Jetta is assembled in Mexico, and its pricing is anywhere but People's Car's.

Wow! That is a sharp looking wagon! I am not sure about the name though... there's a urine joke in that somewhere, lol.
  13. Yeah! That way everyone wins! How could a car be combined with something as advanced as automatic headlamps have crankers?
  14. Agreed. The outgoing Accord has the best interior in the family sedan biz. The new Accord's interior looks to be of high quality as well, if a wee bit less cohesive and attractive in overall presentation. I don't generally include the Passat as a "usual" family sedan as its engineering, design, and perceived interior quality, as well as source of origin (Germany) place it in a slightly more advanced league than the other mainstreamers that unfortunately ends up placing the Passat falling between two stools. Not affordable and contented enough to really charge at the heart of the midsize market, and capable of being pricy enough to be pitted against smaller sedans of its homeland such as the Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series to those from other nationalities such as the Acura TL and Infinti G35 to the Cadillac CTS but lacking the brand cachet to make the difference. It's one of the reasons VW is "between a rock and a hard place".
  15. Okay, okay, I'll grant concession for typical Toyota drivers. But I want to do things my way, hehe. :AH-HA_wink:
  16. I'm a little late to this party, as the conversation has moved on a bit, but I must agree. Autoheadlamps are hardly a must in any segment ever. If a driver can't handle turning the lamps on him/herself and turn them off again albeit with a chime, they probably ought not to be driving. A friend of mine says that no car should be automatic (!) I'll make an exception to that, but I feel also that if you can't drive stick, you really can't drive. And, the thing that just pisses me off about GM's automatic headlamp system is that you have no control over it at all, other than to turn lamps on during the day. Sure, they may have an "OFF" postition, but it bounces straight away from it (likr the Lucerne). What's the point of even installing a switch then??!! I like the way a Chrysler 300M's is; OFF, AUTO, P, and O. And it lets me choose.
  17. If those front and rear clips were placed on a NA Sebring/Stratus along with the lamps, I guarantee that there would be thousands of Americans unable to tell what it really is. And that's sad.
  18. You think so too? I would definitely love to see the new Citroen C4 around here. It's got a funky, cool look that would be great for beating the crap out of Toyota's Scion. I mean, if the U.S. automakers have to lose sales to oversea-ers, I'd prefer it to be to the Euros over the Asians, but that's kinda like the lesser of two evils kind of thing.
  19. MyerShift replied to regfootball's topic in BMW
Sorry, but for me the current generation 5-Series is No, Never. It's ugly, banal, and overteched to the ionosphere. The loaded diaper trunk is, along with "flame surfacing" one of the worst styling concepts ever introduced. Combined with iDrive, current BMW's are just too busy, fussy, and complicated to be truly "Ultimate Driving Machines". I'll take the cool, smooth, high quality presentaiotn of the Audi A6 over the 5 any time, day or place. Really, I'd take any Audi over any BMW sheerly for the sake of AESTHETICS. Crud, I even like the new Chrysler Sebring better stylistically than the 5-Series (or 7-Series, or Z4, or X...)
  20. I'm surprised that Audi is ridding itself of their own doorhandles and going for the more corporate VW look door handles a la Jetta, Passat, etc.
  21. GM saying the current Opel Corsa not being able to be Federalised to meet U.S. regulations especially so early in production is utter horse$h!. GM made the current Astra U.S. regulation acceptable waaaaay late in its product cycle, and there's no reason at all it couldn't do the same with an all-new Corsa that's early on in production.
  22. Arrrgghh!!!!!!! It burns!!!! Take it away!
  23. This morning on MTV at around 8:09am EST, some younger guy was talking up the Astra. I believe it was during the Discover&Download segment. It was a blue 3-door XR model, and not only were appearances praised, but the sound system was promoted as well. This bodes well for not only Saturn and the Astra itself, but GM! *EDIT* Was for the segment title
  24. Ooh, I can't wait to see the Astras is real life!!
